SanDisk Sansa C240 1 GB MP3 Player only shows half empty battery picture on screen and wont turn on. So it needs fixing.

Question edited for a lot more clarity.
Question moved from Misc to model category.

Replace the internal Li-Po battery, but try a reset first.

If your Sansa player is freezing, not charging or not turning on, the first thing to try is a reset of the unit. This will normally clear any temporary condition that may cause the player to freeze or not shut off completely, it's a bit like when your PC crashes and you need to re-start it to clear the error.

Should I let the battery on my SanDisk Clip MP3 player run out completely before recharging for longer battery life? I've heard different answers. Some say it doesn't make a difference; others say...

It does not make any difference with these lithium batteries.
In the older Nickle cadium batteries, it does. It gets a memory effect, if you charge them from a half charges state.

My sansa 4gb clip is not recognised by my computer. The computer will not acknowlege the usb either... My sansa has run out of battery. What can I do????

Hai, i have sansa clip 2gb with the same problem. one ultimate answer i got is Sansa clip uses Media Transfer Protocol(MTP). Sandisk(maker of salsa clip) know about the problem which cannot be solved(the earlier sansa products are to be avoided). There is no solution with the company.

Sansa clip won't charge fully

If you have a phone charger with the same connector, plug in you Clip and leave it overnight. This will fully charge the battery. There is not enough power from the USB port.

Battery
The Sansa
®
Clip player comes with an internal rechargeable battery. To use the player for
the very first time, remember to fully charge the battery. You can charge your Sansa
®
player through the USB port of your computer, a car adapter (not included) USB port, or AC
adapter (not included) USB port.
Charging
To charge the battery, please follow these steps:
1. Connect the larger end of the USB cable into an available USB port on the
computer.
2. Connect the smaller end of the USB cable into the Sansa
®
Clip player.
3. The computer must be on for most USB ports to charge your battery. Your
Sansa
®
will show connected and the yellow charging indicator will appear.
The battery level indicator will blink while charging. You will not be able to
play while connected to the computer USB.
4. To stop recharging, simply disconnect the cable.
The battery can also be charged using an AC adapter (not included) or a car adapter
(not included) and you will be able to play your device while charging with one of the
adapters.
NOTE: Some low-power USB ports may not be able to provide enough charge
power. Also note that the rechargeable batteries are not replaceable.
