Turn the volume up to the highest level.

Can you hear a hiss or static?

NO...usually means speakers are disconnected..often loose socket at rear of radio or broken wiring

YES...Hiss means either blown speaker, faulty radio or faulty aerial.

If you have tape or CD as well , this will prove whether it is the aerial or not.

HISS with CD or tape playing means faulty radio or speakers

WORKING OK with CD or tape means faulty aerial

there's no hissing or static at all. tried ipod and radio. but the odds that mid speakers and the sub that runs through app doesn't put out anything sound at all.

Radio works but no sound

There are several amplifiers and boosters in the pillars. Start with that and move on from there. Sounds like something cutting out after it gets to warm. Make sure part no. for the radio is exactly for the one called for by vin.!!!

I have a refurbished unit I purchased a couple of months ago and it works great but I put it back in my truck and noticed that when I tightened the knobs and will go off than if I back it off it comes on?...

yes common problem with the larger export chassis. the voltage regulator comes un-soldered from the board. re-solder and it will fix the problem. or have a cb shop do it... THEY SHOULDN'T CHARGER MORE THAN $5 for that..!!!!!

also do not use any other knobs/screws longer than what came factory with it. they will hit stuff inside and can short out components. They should be less than 1/4" long..

XHD6430 radio not fully powering on.

I had this same problem with this same deck, in addition to my sound going out for periods at a time. I solved the red light no-nothing else going on issue by pressing and holding the reset button for 5-10 seconds (on the unit, bottom left side - have to remove the removable face piece). Kind of frustrating still though, because every time I do that, I have to reset all my presets again. I had good luck with this deck in the begining, and now not so much. Customer Service from DualAV/Namsung is terrible - I don't think I would buy another deck from their company.

No sound after dropping S350.

Probably one of two things:

The dropped caused the speaker leads from the PCB to Speaker to disengage (check the earphone jack, too... 'cause it is in the circuit)

or

The bounce cause the Audio amplifier IC to become desoldered from the PCB.

JVC KD-NX5000 NOT WORKING PROPERLY

I had the same problem, where the Sat radio, the bluetooth and the ipod were all non-functional. Turns out, they all go through one central hook-up, so you have to make sure that connection is good.

When mine did not show up or function, I looked at the install under the foot board of the front passenger seat that the installer did, and nothing looked out of whack. Upon closer inspection, one of the cables was had been pressed out of it's proper place and loosened enough to cause a bad connection.

I don't care for the install, but there was no problem with the equipment, so check all of your connections. Even to the point of pulling them out and reconnecting them to see if that fixes the problem.
