The WPA or WPA2 network security key is the router's wireless encryptionkey.
To connect to your wireless router, it needs the router's wireless settingsconfigured ie SSID WPA or encryption key and also the wireless cards inall the laptops and computers needs to be configured with these router'swireless settings. Then the laptops and desktop computers can communicate withyour wireless router.

    To access the Belkin configuration, connect a LAN cable from the Belkin to the LAN port on your computer. Open a browser and enter theBelkin configuration URL.http://192.168.2.1
    The default PW = blank (just press Enter)
    You can noe go into the wireless settings to obtain the WPA2 encryption key or change it to a new one.

Zyxel 660hn to xp on a compaq 6710b won't accept 13character WPA2 key on sticker on modem

Try resetting the router/modem to factory settings. It is possible the saved WPA2 key is different then the default key so it is stopping you from adding the WPA2 key on the device.

What is my wireless password

The Passphrase generates the WEP or WPA or WPA2 encryption key and this is in the router's wireless settings.

Setting secured wireless connection

You can enable WEP on your router.

In the address bar of your browser, type 192.168.0.1 to access the setup page of the Dlink router.

By default the username is admin and leave the password blank.

On the Setup page, go to Wireless.

Security Mode should be WEP then click Next.

You can change the WEP KEY 1. Make sure you remember this because you will need to enter this on your wireless computer.

Save the settings.

Security Mode: You may choose from Disable, WEP, WPA-Personal, WPA2-Personal, WPA-Enterprise, WPA2-Enterprise, or RADIUS. All devices on your network must use the same security mode in order to communicate.
Capture(wlansec.wpapersharekey) WPA Personal:
Capture(helpwpa.phase8) WPA Algorithm: You may choose from TKIP or AES.
Capture(helpwpa.phase9) WPA Pre-Shared Key: Choose a unique key to authenticate with other devices on your network. The Pre-Shared Key must be between 8 and 63 characters in length.
