Won't turn on

Electricity was intermittently going on & off for a few seconds...after that, the tv went dead. when i turn it on, all i get is the blinking green on/off light. i figured it was the lamp, since i replaced it once before. I took out the lamp & noticed the end of it had a crack in it. so, i bought a new lamp, installed it, and i still have the same problem. tv won't turn on...all i get is the blinking green on/off light.

I bought the tv in 2002.

I am having the same problem with my Panasonic PT-40LC12 due to a short power outage. It was working before the power outage and now when I turn it on all I get is a blinking green light on the power button. I haven't taken it to a repair shop yet because I am hoping for a cheaper solution. Any help?

i got the same problem. i turned it off one night and the next morning all it didnt work. the green light blinks but the tv doesnt turn on. i noticed that when the light is blinking green i hear a slight clicking sound close to where the light bulb is located. I also changed the bulb about 1 month ago so i really dont think its the bulb.

Ditto. I'm hoping it's just a fuse, but might be a MUCH more expensive ballast problem.

    sigh.

Better to call the manufacturer so they can test it and check for problems. If still within warranty they will replace it, I guess.

Do the menus work or input labels appear when you change sources?
Have you tried unplugging the power with the tv turned on, waiting a few minutes, then plugging it back in and turning it on?

06 Colbalt Electrical System Dead

I would go to the positive terminal on the battery anjd check for black hard build up on the post and inside the terminal. This is lead sulphate and cause a high resistance to any high current flow. Clean both with sand paper until shiny and refit and tension properly. Do the negative also as it will have build up but to a lesser degree. If the battery lead runs through a connection box Check for tight connections there also. As to towing most towers have a wheel rack that fits under the tyres and lifts them clear of the road so it can be taken to to a shop.

TV JUST TURN IT SELF OFF

something burned means do not plug back in etc--consider getting an estimate for repair--not a do it yourself thing.

One of the lights wasn't working. I jiggled the wire, it went on for a second then a pop noise and everything went dead. Won't turn over or anything.

You have stumbled upon a direct short that has to be repaired first. When you find the short you will need to find why the insulation is worn. Correct why insulation bad, then use electrical tape to wrap the spot and a couple of inches on either side of it. Find the fuse and replace it. You should be good to go.

Sharp Microwave problem.

A microwave can be dead for many reasons.

If it goes dead for a while during or after cooking then comes back on, the magnetron is probably overheating and causing the magnetron thermostat to open. Then when it cools, it closes the circuit and allows power through again.

If it's intermittent or random, it may be a bad connection, usually on the control board or fuse holder.

If it went dead almost immediately after pressing the Start pad, that's usually a shorted high-voltage capacitor.

If it went dead a few seconds after pressing the Start pad, that's usually a failing high-voltage transformer.

If the fuse is good, it may be an open thermostat or thermal cutout on or near the magnetron or on top of the cavity / body of the oven.

TV won' turn on

Solder, solder, solder! Shut down circuits protect crts to avoid permanent damage. If any of the deflection circuits are defective, or intermittent, shut down occurs. I have not only seen bad solder on deflection circuits, especially vertical, but also intermittent connections on the yokes themselves. I've also seen shorted convergence ics cause shut down. Don't forget solder connections in the power supply.
