Hello...do hdmi slots eventually wear out? I have the samsung S40510 which I think is about 6 years old. It was working earlier today, but when I went to swap my FiOS HDMI for DVD HDMI everything quit working; this was a work around for me because appeared one slot was went bad when I replaced one blue ray dvd player for another.

Probably a handshake problem with the cable box. It is common for cable boxes to have HDMI handshake problems. Hook the box up using the component cables and you should be fine

if u have placed your DVD next to your tv ... just maintain distance between then and check out

I called Verizon and exchanged my STB from a QIP 6416 to a QIP 7216 and it solved the HDMI audio problem. This looks like the fix.

hello..try to change the sound settings to HDMI..you say when you use other cables everything is fine so the TV reconizes the HDMi as a video only so your sound settings should be changed to HDMI
