Start the playback for testing if Windows Media Player no sound problem has been fixed. It would be excellent if you just stop here and are able to enjoy smooth sound enjoyment. But needless to worry, some of you may have to move on to the next section as Windows Media Player not playing audio still persists.

When I watch a movie/video clip from a DVD or online my laptop performs -very- poorly. It will "skip" ahead to various parts or take forever to play and will not play continuously. How can I fix this?

Hello.

I would suggest that you upgrade or reinstall the video software that you are using, such as Windows Media Player.

But, you didn't indicate if the Only time your laptop performs poorly occurs when watching a movie or video clip. If your laptop is slow in other ways as well, let us know.

Hope this helps.

DVD won't Play

If i understood you right you need a DVD player program. If so i would recommend you to try VLC Media Player.. VLC is a portable multimedia player, encoder, and streamer supporting many audio and video codecs and file formats as well as DVDs, VCDs, and various streaming protocols..

Shaky sound and video

To solve this:

1- Check if you have more than 1 DVD player program installed. If yes, uninstall any you don't use (being careful not to uninstall the one you use or that's needed for the recording part of what you do)
2- Check if you have more than 1 Media player software like VLC media player, Microsoft Media player (automatically installed) etc.

Because it also affects video played saved on your computer (assuming AVI or video you play using Windows Media Player or another player) and DVD playback, its usually a program that is conflicting with another of the same type (plays media Audio/Video). If the above solution did not work, try performing the "system restore" and choose a date of when you definitely remember it working without chatter. If this is not an option, proceed below.

If your computer has been performing regular updates and you happen to be using a new Windows Media player, do you remember if it happened during a computer software update? If yes, the fault lies with Windows Media player having performed an upgrade to itself. You may want to "demote" media player by going to Control Panel and "add or remove programs" list (making sure "show updates" is checked) and scroll down until you see Windows Media player. Then uninstall the latest update it has performed.

If you installed another media player/DVD player program(s) and it coincides with your problems, uninstall it. Multiple DVD/Media players have their own settings, file changes/updates and they can affect one another if installed simultaneously on 1 system.

Let us know how it goes and rate us. :)

Play dvd nothing - play s/d card (video) sound but no picture.

You need to update the dvd softwear. Check the default settings for playback of media,if it is set to windows media it won't work if you hav'nt installed the correct updates. Choose the Toshiba dvd player as the default player and it should work. If you prefer windows media then you can get the updated codecs from ' free-codecs.com ' Easier still, try uninstalling your windows media player and installing windows media 11, this will usually resolve the problem.

Video Problems with Windows Media Player

Why is the projected video black in the Player? If you can see the Player, but the Video and Visualization pane is black, this usually indicates that your video card is not configured correctly. You can usually correct this problem by changing the video acceleration and/or overlay settings for your video card. To change video acceleration, do the following: 1. In Windows Media Player, on the Tools menu, click Options. 2. In the Options dialog box, click the Performance tab. 3. In the Video Acceleration area, move the slider to adjust the video-acceleration capabilities of your video hardware. Drag the slider to Full to use all available video acceleration. Drag the slider to None to use basic video-acceleration settings that work with most video hardware. To change overlay settings, do the following: 1. In Windows Media Player, on the Tools menu, click Options. 2. In the Options dialog box, click the Performance tab. 3. In the Video Acceleration area, click the Advanced button. 4. In the Video Acceleration Settings dialog box, under Video Acceleration, clear the Use overlays check box.
