During certain games, mainly gta4, and when i play dvds, the sound from the tv is very quiet which ruins the game/dvd
even if you turn the volume up on the tv, it is still very quiet
on other games like call of duty 4, the sound is fine so im not entirely sure where the problem is coming from, as it only affects certain games and dvds
i dont have any extra speakers, it seems to have happened recently, when i first played the game it was fine, but thanks for the suggestion
im really surprised, as it only happens for certain films and gamesi dont have any extra speakers, it seems to have happened recently, when i first played the game it was fine, but thanks for the suggestion

Some TVs have surround setting to create a virtual surround with the 2 speakers on the set, make sure your speakers are set to direct stereo, not, matiex, or expanded, or any other setting, try setting to mono, sounds like youy playstation also may be set to dolby5.1, make sure that box is not checked.

A bad laser could affect the sound cause it can't read all the information from the disc. Try games as well and see if it does the same thing, sounds like a new drive is in order. There is one laser in those drives and require different strengths to read different discs. Also try a music disc that you know is good. If your still getting the same issue then get the drive replaced or just replace the laser if you have some technical knowledge.
