It may be necessary for you to change the Video Output Settings on the PS3 in order to see a picture.
Reset Video Output
If you are changing cables or cannot see an image on the screen, you may need to reset the video output to default settings. To reset the video output:
While the PS3 system is in standby mode (red light on the front of the system), hold down the touch-sensitive On/Off button on the front of the system until the PS3 beeps a second time (approximately 5 seconds), then release it.
The PS3 will power up, the Video Output Settings will automatically reset to the standard resolution (or detect the current display output settings of your TV/monitor).
Manually Change Video Output
If you wish to change the video cable or change the video resolution you may manually change the video output.
In the XMB™ home menu, go to Settings icon(Settings) > [Display Settings] icon and press the X button iconbutton.
Highlight [Video Output Settings] and press the X button iconbutton.
Select the appropriate connector type you are using for your TV (i.e., HDMI, AV Multi, etc.) and press the X button iconbutton.
You may be informed the console will "test the settings for 30 seconds". Press the X button iconbutton to "Change" the display of the system.
If your TV has multiple "Input" or " Video " channels, (i.e., "Input 1", "Input 2", "Input 3", etc.), you may need to toggle through each "Input" channel on your TV to find the correct one that will display the appropriate picture for your connection type (i.e., HDMI) during the 30 seconds, especially if you do not see a picture. The system will remain in the selected connector type for 30 seconds.
Select all resolutions that are supported by your TV (i.e., Standard, 480p, 720p, etc.) and press the X button iconbutton.
Select the TV type (either "16:9" or "4:3") and press the X button iconbutton.
Verify your selections on the final screen and press the X button iconbutton to save your settings.
At this point, you may choose to [Set Audio Output Settings] or to [Finish]. Click here for information on setting the audio output settings.

How do I connect my LG TV to my dish network

Hello Al, my name is Cheri Torres and I work with DISH Network Internet Response Team. I came across your post and wanted to see if I could help. Connecting your LG TV to your DISH Network receiver should be fairly easy, depending on the connections you are using. If you are using an HDMI cable you will need to connect one side of it to your LG TV and the other end into your DISH receiver, as long as you have an HD receiver. If you do not have an HD receiver you are probably going to want to use composite cables(red, white and yellow). If you are using either of these cables you are going to have to set your TV to an input in order to receive the DISH picture. You can select an input by finding a button on the TV remote or the TV itself that is listed as input, source, AUX, mode or video. You will need to cycle through each one until you find the DISH picture on one of them. Once you have the picture you will need to press SAT on your DISH remote and everything should be working fine from there. I hope this information is useful and if you have further questions feel free to ask!

I'm hooked up tp Dish Network an hit wrong button on top for volume and now pic is gone. in lower left corner says no signal., but dish is working, just no picture on screen

Hey there, Cheri Torres with DISH Network Customer Service here. It sounds like you are going to need to change your TV back to the proper input or channel. If the TV remote is not working to change the channels you can also use the buttons on the front of the TV. First look for a button listed as either input, TV/video, source or AUX. When you press this button it will start cycling through all the inputs available, make sure to cycle through them slowly because it make take a couple seconds for the picture to come in. If you do not find a picture on any of the inputs you are going to need to try the different channels. Normally for a TV where the receiver box is the TV should be set to channel 3 or 4. Once you have found your DISH Network picture you will want to make sure to push the SAT button on the DISH remote so that it doesn't change the TV channel again. I hope you find this information useful and if you have any further questions or concerns please let me know. Thanks. :)

I have dish network and am trying to watch tv on my gateway plasma. how do i connect my satelite cable to plasma to get picture?

We would like to guide you through the connection process, but depending on what kind of receiver and TV you have this process may vary.Visit our "How to connect receiver" page here:http://www.dishnetwork.com/SupportSection/setup-receiver.

Once we have everything connected correctly, check what channel or input yourTV is currently on by powering the TV off then back on and noting the channelor input that appears on screen when the TV is powered on.

Steps for getting picture on TV1:
If you are using a Coax Cable to connect the receiver to TV1, check thereceiver's back panel for the output name. If your receiver has a "TVCH 3/4 out" (non-ViP Receiver): Tune TV to channel 3 or channel4, if it has "Home Distribution" output (ViP Receiver):Tune TV to channel 62 or 75. If using non-Coax (RCA,Component, or HDMI) to connect receiver to TV1, cycle through the inputs untilpicture appears (this information may appear on the remote sticker), mostTVs have a "TV/Video", "Input", or "Source" button.

Steps for getting picture on TV2:
Access "Modulator Setup" from TV1 by pressing "menu"then 6-1-5. Tune TV2 to the channel that appears under "TV2 Out" onscreen. If still no picture, change the "TV2 Out" mode fromAir to Cable, or if it's already on Cable, change it to Air. Then change thechannel of TV2 to what is now displayed under "TV2 Out".
If the issue is only on ONE receiver, unplug the DISH receiver for10 seconds and plug back in. It may take up to 5 minutes for the reset processto be completed. If you still are not getting a picture, connect anothercomponent (VCR, DVD Player, etc.) to the same TV, using same cable, same input, and same channel to see if it works. If it works give us a call at1-800-333-DISH (3474) for additional troubleshooting, if you don't get apicture with the other component, replace the cable.

Hope this steps help, and thank you for being a valued DISH Network customer!

No picture just sound thru dish network

There are a few reasons that this could happen. The main reason would be that the tv is on the incorrect channel or input. You will want to make sure that if you are at TV1, the channel is on 3 or 4, and an input if needed, such as VIDEO 1 or 2. If at TV2, the channel needs to be on 60 or 73. Cabling is another reason this could be. You want to make sure that if you are at TV1, all cables going from the receiver to the TV are connected on the back of the receiver at the green TV1 location. For TV2, the cable needs to be connected to the HOME DISTRIBUTION output on the back of the receiver.

Just set up new tv on dish network and eveything

It would be our pleasure to help get that fixed right away. The first thing we want to ensure is that all connected equipment is on;although it may seem like an obvious step we don't want to overlook it. Checkwhat type of cable is used to connect your TV to the receiver. If you are usinga coax cable to connect the receiver to TV1, check the receiver's back panelfor the output name. If your receiver has a "TV CH 3/4 out": Tune TVto channel 3 or channel 4, if it is labeled "Home Distribution":Tune TV to channel 62 or 75. More than likely you are using a non-coax (RCA,Component, or HDMI) cable to connect receiver to TV1, in this case we want tocycle through the inputs of your until picture appears; most TV's have a"TV/Video", "Input", or "Source" button either onthe front of the TV or on the remote. We also want to ensure that the TV andthe receiver are connected properly, visit this link to for more information:http://www.dishnetwork.com/SupportSection/setup-receiver-totv. Once we havemade sure everything is connected properly, unplug receiver for 10 seconds thenplug it back in, this will reset the receiver. If we are still not getting apicture connect another component (VCR, DVD Player, etc.) to the same TV, usingthe same cable, on the same input/channel to see if it works. If you get apicture with the other component give us a call at 1-800-333-DISH (3474) forsome additional troubleshooting. If it doesn't work with the other componentthen replace the cable that was used.

We hope these steps resolve the issue. We want to thank you for being a valuedDISH Network customer!
