We just bought a used hp 1055cm plotter with post script, after we loaded the drivers from hp the unit printed a test page perfectly but when we tried to print a drawing in a size c format(24 x 18) the unit gave a "out of memory data lost" error the file size was only 600K . When we tried to print the same file in letter size it printed fine. the unit has 96 meg of ram installed, we tried reducing print quality and tried pint as a image, and in b/w only, all to no avail. any suggestion? tks in advance steve

SOURCE: Printer prints always only a blank page

2 more things to try. Assuming it is USB Change USB port. Re boot the computer. Replace the cable. Reboot the computer. Coming back to the driver software. Go to Start /Printers and Faxes/Install new printer Leave what is there in place When the Wizard comes up and asks CD or Select from list Choose select from list - then go to HP and your model and simply load the generic driver. Try each alteration one at a time Tell us what you get.

SOURCE: DEsignJet 1055CM Plus (Plotter)

It is most likely the network card. Take it out of the plotter(while it is off nad unplugged) and restart it to see if the problem returns
If it does,it is going to be the hard disk..

SOURCE: my hp laserjet 4 plus printer cannot print excel files

wherer are you printing this, A4 is european, north america would use letter, etc..
if you go to control panel, open the printers and faxes folder, right click the printer in question, a window will pop up, click on properties.. a new window should open. click on "Printing Defaults" or "Printing Preferences" then click on "Advanced" ( I believe it should be to the lower left) that will open another window, in paper size make it Letter if your in N America, A4 for Euro.. this will set the deafult print..
Click ok, then print a test page from the general tab..

The reason you getting this LOAD LETTER message. your excel page setup is set to print to letter, your machine is set to print top A4

If you open Excel then go to Print then a window should pop up where you select the printer you want to use, click on Properties, then Lay out, then Advanced, and input the correct paper size before you print.

does this happen with all excels files, or one particular?
Create a new Excel file, and try printing it.. possibly could be in that particular file. I have seen this happen alott particulary with PDF files.. Where the incorrect paper size is in the file..

I have a HP Design Jet 1055CM that keeps showing "Receiceing" on the front panel. I have performed a cold re-set (turned off, dis-connected both power and NIC) and Power-cycled and error comes back. I then...

remove the net card completely and the cycle the power once it has come to ready print an internal print to ensure the fault lies external to the plotter , if it is able to print then the fault lies between the sender unit(PC) and the net card if you still have an error at this point the the Main PCA is at fault,

Red light comes on nothing ells

The Designjet 1050C Plus does not need the hard disk drive to boot. When only the red light comes on, the firmware ROM is probably missing. Open the small panel on the back of the plotter to access the memory and ROM slots. If the FW ROM and memory are missing, you will need to buy them to make the plotter boot. They can be purchased at: http://www.lpscomputer.com/c-654-designjet-1050c-1055cm.aspx

HP DesignJet 1055cm Plus system error: 04C300 001F0000.

Its either the EIO card, make sure its seated properly, or the hard disk drive has failed in your plotter. Try running the plotter with out the hard disk drive, it is static sensitive, so make sure your grounded before removing it.

Dead hard drive in 1055CM DesignJet Plotter to replace

you can run this printer without an hdd. disconnect the power from the hdd.you may have to disconnect the IDE controller (the small board that connects to the main pca) and disconnect the flat grey cable. this makes your DJ1055CM a DJ1050C it should print okay. you cannot format any hdd to work. you must buy the hdd from HP. if you can find one. good luck and i hope this helped.
