Epson TX400 is so sensitive in terms of ink cartridges, you can only replace a refilled ink cartridge in this type of printer if the cartridge has an automatic ink reseter chip. When you replace a cartridge in your printer, it will automatically register the ink level in the chip. So you need an ink reseter chip to replace a new refilled cartridge.

I have an Epson SX400. When using non-Epson

Short answer is no... The SSC utility stopped development about 3+ years ago and hasn't been compatible with newer printers produced since.

The SX400 does have a suitable reset utility if you do some searching for "adjprog tx400 download" BUT word of warning, look for a reputable source and don't just run stuff without checking thoroughly for virus/malware payloads.

Hope that helps.

Epson SX200 refuses to recognise compatible cartridges

Hi Howard,

Bottom line, if the printer doesn't accept them, then they are not compatible... I'd recommend returning them for a refund and find a supplier that has tried and tested cartridges.

I'd love to be able to recommend a supplier but as I don't have an SX200 I can't... Others might be able to help if you can indicate where you are in the world as the SX200 is, I believe, zone specific.

Best of luck

Refill system for used Epson Stylus C67 cartridges

Hi Edulfo - my advice is to buy compatible cartridges. These are not refills but new cartridges that will work in your printer, but are not made by Epson. See your local e-bay site for very low cost cartridges of this type.

In addition, there are "Continuous Ink Supply Systems" (CISS) which replace the cartridges with bottles of ink. See:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CISS-FOR-EPSON-C67-C87-CX3700-CONTINUOUS-INK-SYSTEM-_W0QQitemZ220307456327QQcmdZViewItem

for information about these. Once again e-bay is the cheapest source.

Epson DX7400 not accepting non standard inks

It's entirely possible that you've been sold CX7400 cartridges and not DX compatible versions.

I would see if you can source some cartridges from somewhere in the UK that are compatible and see if that solves the problem...

It's also possible that the cartridge chips are soiled, broken or similar so I'd take them back to the store and get a refund.

Hope that helps.

My sx200 wont accept compatable ink cartridges

If you are using refilled ink with epson it can cause the print head to go bad. Epson is very picking when it comes to their ink. I would suggest using there ink

EPSON color printer, CX3810 refuses to print.

Epsom stylus CX4700 won't print - new ink cartridges installed

They cut costs on Epson compatible cartridges by using low quality ink and chips or not resetting the chips at all. Sounds like you got cartridges that the chips were not reset on so your printer thinks all the cartridges are empty. I own a Cartridge World ink refilling store and I would never recommend purchasing compatible Epson cartridges from anyone. I would buy refills of Epson brand cartridges and make sure the seller reset the chips.

EPSON STYLUS CX3200 PRINTER

Then either the cartridge is faulty (quite likely if it is a refilled compatible) or the head has a fault.

Try another new genuine cart and expect the problem will clear.

The printer tells me all the ink cartridges are empty and refuses to print. All the cartridges have ink and are inserted properly

Are the cartridges refurbished, or refilled, or compatibles? If so it is possible that they are being misread by the printer or that they have not had the chip reset.

If they are genuine Epson carts and are all new then the issue mist likely lies withe the printer. Not a problem you can easily fix yourself. I would suggest you take it to an Epson dealer to be checked out. It may need a main board.
