Although you can sign into Xbox LIVE without the need for your LIVE password, you cannot add Microsoft points or buy games without entering your LIVE account information.

All Xbox LIVE accounts are tied into your Microsoft Windows Live account. If you forgot your Windows Live email and password, you can reset your password, but not your email.

Since your email was used to register you to the LIVE network, you had to have used a legitimate email address when you signed up.

Visit the Windows Live login page (see Link Below).

Click "Sign in." Click the "Forgot your password?" link.

You can guess your email as many times as you want.

Select "Email me a reset link."
Click "Next."

Open the email account you send the password to.
If you forgot your password to that email, use the email client's password recovery tool.

Open the "Xbox LIVE" email and click on the provided link.
The link will redirect you to the password reset page.

Enter your new password twice.
Click "Next."

Turn on your Xbox 360 and sign into your Xbox LIVE profile. You should be able to enter your new information to log on to your account and access anything on Xbox LIVE, such as buying a game.

As long as you have the original email used for the account, login to xbox live on your computer, provide email account, select "forgot password." Xbox Live will send a "reset password" email to that account.

Windows live accounts like hotmail etc, all have the same account passwords. So the X-box is the same as those. If you have forgotten your password to x-box live go to the x-box live site and submit a forgot password entry.

If referring to Xbox Live Gold Family Account, then contact Xbox support directly. You will need to be able to positively identify yourself as the original owner of the account. In other words, no kids or teens posing as adults to gain access to the account.

Here is the procedure to reset the parental lock code:

1. From the XBOX dashboard screen, go to settings and then parental control.

Managing Xbox LIVE Activity
Xbox LIVE Controls come into play only when you take Xbox 360 online, and they're linked to a child's profile and gamertag. When an Xbox LIVE account is created, the service asks for the member’s age to determine whether to apply Family Settings to that account.
Parents are also required to create or use an existing Windows Live ID. The Windows Live ID is associated with the child’s Xbox LIVE account and protects the settings from being changed later by the child. To change a child’s settings, first select the child’s account name and connect to Xbox LIVE. Once signed in, enter your Windows Live ID password to unlock the settings.
To see these controls, go to My Xbox, open System Settings, then selectFamily Settings, Xbox LIVE Controls.

If you did not create a Live account that is not over 18 years old, it is unfortunately impossible to COMPLETELY remove the parental controls on the Xbox, however, it is possible to almost completely turn them off. If you have access to the 'parent' account of the child's account on the Xbox 360 and you have your own Xbox Live Gamertag, you can login using your Windows Live account on Xbox.com and change parental control settings.

If the "Child" account has reached the age of 18, then you need to sign into the "Parent" account and follow these steps to convert the account to an "Adult" account:

• Go to My Xbox, and open your profile.
• Select Manage Account.
• Select Promote Child Account.
• Follow the required steps.
  

If the "Child" account is NOT atleast 18 years old then this is how to modify the Parental Control settings (Note: You can NOT completely disable Parental Controls, games that have ratings above the neccesary age can NOT be downloaded on the "Child"account):

• Sign in using the "Child" account's Live email address and password.
• Click on the gamertag in the upper right hand corner of the site.
• Click the Manage Profile button.
• Under the Gamer Profile heading, choose "Family Settings".
• It will now ask to sign in as the "Parent" account.
• After signing in, you can change the Parental Control limitations.
• When done, click the save button at the bottom of the page.
