I can see my pictures in the camera but i cannot see the picture if i connect it to my computer

Install the software from the CD that came with the camera (or download it from Canon's website), Plug the camera in using the USB cable and the computer should go through it's Found New Hardware routine.

What you do now depends on what software and operating system you have. The easiest is probably to install Picasa and use the import function.

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

Windows updates changes the registry and sometimes causes our "toys" to stop working. You can contact Microsoft and get instructions to re-write your registry(very dangerous if you don't know what you're doing) or, you can do what the pros do to avoid this very common problem....get a card reader! typrice_40.jpg

USB connection with the camera causes computer to crash.

Try using a different USB cable. The connections between cameras and computers usually are problematic. A card reader will allow you to download the pictures from the SD card, without problems and saving your camera's battery power supply
