Cant clear nightshot plus mode

In owners manual it said to slide nightshot mode to off but i do not have that sliding switch. when i go into menu and switch nightshot to off it says its off but it is not and the indicator symbol is still showing on lcd screen

    I can't believe I missed that function switch!!! I looked all over that camara and read the whole dang owners manual!!! Me and my husband! When I read your comment I was like what? You've got to be kidding!!! I got my camara out and looked at it and couldn't believe my eyes!!! My kids are being awarded at our town celebration today and now I can capture it on video for them!!!

Night Shot option can be OFF by switch at top of camera.

Can't turn off nightshot on my handycam help!!!
Option 1:

Using the NightShot:

1. First Set the POWER Switch to Camera, Slide NIGHTSHOT to ON.

2. The NIGHTSHOT indicators flash on the screen.

3. To cancel the NightShot mode, Slide NIGHTSHOT to OFF.


Option 2:

1. Let us try to reset the Camcorder and check if it helps to resolve the issue.

2. Locate the RESET button behind the LCD screen of the Camcorder.

3. The Camcorder should be switched ON when you reset the unit. Press the RESET button using a sharp-pointed object.

NOTE: Resetting the Camcorder will reset the settings of the Camcorder to the factory settings including date and time. It will not delete any data saved in the Camcorder.

This is the solution, I would only add that it's on the top of the camera itself. Not in the digital menu or backlight button. On my older version, it's between the cassette and lens sections of the camera. 
Never having used the nightshot before, my sister left me with the same quandary...

How to delete a picture
Slide the upper-right slide switch down to put the camera in picture review mode. Press right or left on the circular switch to find the particular picture you want to delete. Then press the upper left "trashcan" button to delete.

To erase ALL the pictures, leave the camera in picture review mode and press the menu button. The erase command should be around the fourth item listed in the menu that pops up.

When done, don't forget to slide the upper-right switch up to put the camera back in picture taking mode.

Remote doesn't work
Slide the bottom part of the remote control down. Switch the bottom right button to DVD 1. There might be a white sticker that covers it so remove the sticker first. Then hold down the "Enter" button and the "1" button down at the same time for a few seconds. That should make the remote work again.
