The Internet connection on my HP mini netbook keeps timing out. It will work for 10 - 20 minutes, before being unable to open any more pages. Meanwhile the internet connection is stil active, and I can reopen pages if I close my browser and restart internet explorer. The problem is not caused by my internet connection as it happens at different locations.

Try removing internet explorer and reinstalling. If that doesn't work try using Firefox instead, that will help to figure out where the problem is (eg. if firefox works fine you know the problem is with IE) and at least you'll have a better browser, and a backup if needed.

If reinstalling IE didn't solve the problem, then you may have a virus, try using an antivirus program, such as Avast (the only one I use) and some anti spyware/malware programs, such as Adaware and Spybot:search and destroy (both preferably).

Oh and if you have any 'toolbar' addons such as google toolbar or yahoo toolbar etc, then get rid of them, they are spyware (they send info back on what you do) and will only cause problems, especially if you have a few of them.

You might have some viruses and malware.

Hp 110 mini start up repair not working

the battery does not come out easy on mini.
so you cant test it on line power pack only
if had this problem. (i have a mini that i hate, and parked since new)
id pull the battery and test it now.
the HP.com has the full set of manuals,
read that and shows how to remove the battery
old batteries short, and keep the LT dead.

case 2
battery is ok,
so on the same hp page
see how to make your only recovery media, cd /or stick
do so and reload OS

with no restore point set (you failed to do so, say one time every 6months) then they are not there.
so is a waste of time.

use HP offical recover media method stated on YOUR LAPTOP
many PCs are full of virus or a bad HDD.
even the recovery partition cab be bad, so
out comes RECOVERY MEDIA, there is no other way.

unless using a clean MS install l.... and then tons of hp drivers.

My Minii was given to me a a gift recently, no matter what I do I am una.ble too make an Internet connection It;s a Wireless connection I want, but all I get is a big red X and a comment, make sure your...

Please refer to the User Manual for the HP Mini Netbook, located here:

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01657997.pdf

Specifically, take a look at page 25, "Connecting to a wireless network". At the bottom of this page, if you are seeing the icon listed as Wireless (disconnected), this means the wireless switch on your Mini is turned off. To turn it back on, find the small slider button on the front of your Mini with the wireless antenna icon next to it, and slide it. This should activate your wireless card, and if you have a wireless network in range it should identify it shortly after.

If your wireless card is already on, and it cannot find your wireless network signal, you can try either (1) restarting your router, or (2) visit the HP Support page for the Mini 1115NR, select your version of Windows installed on the Mini, then download and install the latest wireless networking drivers.

Laptop wont connect to wireless network but desktop is fine.

Perhaps, it just needed a new IP address. Simply rebooting the computer and resetting the IP Address of the computer took care of the issue.

That sounds like symptoms of Manufacturer & Windows drivers conflicting. Try uninstall the Manufacturer Drivers and let the windows ones do the work, and see how that goes down.
