Those cables are called AV Outputs so on the back of the DVD player Unit look for AV output and plug those Av Cables into that Group make sure to plug all the cables into the same group put the TV to the right input and you are good to go my friend.
E74: AV cable error... There is a problem with the AV cable, try
using a different AV cable. If the cable is known to be working then there
is a 90% chance it's a scaler chip problem (the "ANA" or "HANA" chip
connected directly to the AV cable) in rare cases it is the GPU.
If it is the GPU you will need to contact Microsoft for a replacement.
it should be the other way around if the tv has av inputs then hook the two units up using av cables if the tv does not have av input then youl need to purchase a rf to av converter
For this unit the component output (green, blue, and red cables) only work for the DVD player portion of it. You will need to connect either the av input on the back or the front with composite (yellow, red, and white cables) to your television in addition to the component cables I assume you have connected already. Once you have done so you will need to switch this unit over to the right av output in order to access the vcr and also switch your television over to the right av input in order to pick up the signal from the vcr.
HI. Replacing the video cable would also be my first suggestion. The Xbox AV cable has many manufacturing faults. If you are using the original cable tat came with the unit, I suggest to replace it with newer model.
Now, if you experience the same issues after replacing the original AV cable, this will lead to a more serious issue that concerns the HANA chip. This chip is responsible for the transfer of information through the AV cables. The transfer port(the AV cable end that is inserted into the Xbox), is directly connected to this actual chip. If the internal connections to this chip have failed, or are failing, this will be the culprit. The chip will need to be replaced, or the solder joint will need to be resolderd. If this unit is still under warranty, I would suggest to contact Microsoft for a free repair ticket. Do Not open the case if the unit is still under the manufactures warranty. This action will void the warranty.
I assume there is a series of AV inputs you can cycle through on the TV unit, the most definitive way to be sure, if your TV/Monitor has a tuner socket (the plug for the antenna) your unit will have a TV option on th AV input list. I hope this helps you. Good Luck.
HI, this is a failed video card in this case. you can confirm by unplugging the unit for 5 minutes. this will reset the main board. if you continue to experience a no picture situation, you will need to replace the video card in your unit.
Its integrated so, this repair will need to be initiated by Sony techs.
Just to be sure, try to purchase another set of AV cables. this may be the issue. if the new set of AV cable do not fix this issue, replace the Video card.
The pin on a regular 3.5mm av to rca is TOO SHORT. If you get the unit from GPX, you'll note it is a bit longer. I found this problem also affected Sony and other portable DVD players - the regular 3.5mm plug is TOO SHORT. I haven't found a source other than GPX for the av cable with the correct length plug. Weird but true.
