From the Setup menu, select Date Imprint and turn it off. This will keep the camera from putting the date into the picture area in the future. It will not affect pictures you've already taken.

To get to the Setup menu from the Easy Auto mode, press MENU.

To get to the Setup menu from the other modes, press MENU to bring up the shooting menu, then use the multiselector to select Setup and press OK.

I have a Coolpix L18 Camera. I am trying to change the date on pictures already taken. Is this possible.

Not without special software to change the EXIF data of the file. You could Google Exif Date change" and pick from the software in the results. If it is a date that is part of the visible photo (even shows up on prints of the photo), you would have to use a photo editing program such as Photoshop.

Date issue on picture

You'll need to use a photo editing program like Photoshop Elements to erase the date. Is the date close enough to the edge that you can crop it out?

Lens Error on L18

This is probably THE single most common failure among digital cameras. There's a halfway chance of fixing it yourself, described here: http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2007/12/fixing-lens-error-on-digital-camera.html

Nikon Coolpix L18 suddenly states that card is not formatted.

Sounds as if the card is corrupted - you will have to use data recovery software.

Nikon Coolpix L18 Driver

Try this, it may work without the software.  Turn off the camera. Plug the usb cable between the camera and the computer. Turn on the camera. If a box pops up on the computer asking what you want to do, scroll down and see if there is an option to view pictures. If a window opens up with all your pictures on it, great. Now open up a folder where you want to put your pictures. Bring up the other window with the pictures in it and hit the control key and the d key at the same time on your keyboard. Then drag your pictures to the window where you want them and let go of the mouse key.  They should all move over. Then you can use Windows image viewer to see them. Let me know if that works.
