with only 1/3 of the screen out do you still think its the controller panel? wouldn't a bad controller panel split the screen in half? When you say lcd panel itself you mean the $1300 screen itself? Will send back other parts and order the lcd controller panel if you still think thats a possibility with only a 1/3 of the screen out with the colored lines, 2/3's of the screen fine sound fine. question on replacement part, when i look up the part numbers on shopjimmy.com the part number of the lcd controller shows for a different model. PART# FHD60C4LVO.3 IS THE LCD CONTROLLER FOR LN52A580PFXZA, however when i look up the part it shows it going to a LTF400HA03. what do you think, should work? thanks Kevin

Azraelsrl, Thanks for your reply...last tech suggested t-conn board so i have ordered it before your response. the buffer board is located above the t-conn board I assume? I will replace it next, however I am concered that only 1/3 of the screen is affected, if either the t-conn board or the buffer board were defective wouldn't that affect that entire half of the screen, not just a third of it? I do believe the buffer board is my last hope before accepting that it's the display itself...thanks Kevin..

  • Kevin Latt Feb 16, 2011

makes sense, i'll order that buffer board and see, thanks Kevin

  • Kevin Latt Feb 23, 2011

ok I want to replace the buffer board you mentioned but can not see how to remove it, do i have to pull the display from the case? is this that difficult? should i order a manual? will accept your answer when i try a new buffer board. need to remove it for part numbers. thanks Kevin

This is not an issue with the main board . Its a clear case of faulty LCD controller board or the LCD panel itself is faulty(most likely). I suppose the sound is not affected?

  • Anonymous Feb 16, 2011

Its not cotrller panel. Its the LCD controller or the LCD panel. Yes there is a possibility that its the LCD controller but like I said its most likely to be the LCD panel itself. There were numerous lawsuits here in India against the LCD panels of Samsung going bad after a couple of years. Also the part number of the LCD controller should match exactly. If you read the not below the part, it say "Always order only by part number"

The inverters were replaced unnecessarily - nothing to do with this problem. The failure of the image processor from the main would have caused corruption on all the screen so that board was also replaced for nothing.
Multicolored lines signal that only those pixel lines are badly controlled by the buffer board responsible with this side of the screen - it will be the LJ41-01193A or LJ41-01194A . A replacement costs $50 so open the tv, identify exactly the board and get a new one from

No, each chip on the buffer board is responsible for a part of the screen. If it would have been the T-Con board it would have indeed covered exactly half of the screen.

  • Azrael SRL Feb 16, 2011

    OK.

  • Azrael SRL Feb 23, 2011

Yes, the display must be removed from the case. No, it's not difficult, it's just a long job in which is mandatory to have another person with you. A manual will always help, order one if you feel that you can't do the job safely - the screen is very fragile, you must be very careful when working around it. The parts are almost surely the ones for which i gave you the links.

Dell Latitude D505 half of screen is black with colored vertical lines.

Sounds like you have a section of dead pixels. This can happen if the laptop has been dropped a lot or stepped on or some type of impact on the laptop. This is a hardware issue. You will need to have the screen replaced. In my opinion, by the age of the laptop, its better off getting a new one.

My SAMSUNG PPM42M6H screen has horizontal grainy lines at the top of screen measuring about 7 inches and from right to left. Lower half seems OK. What should be done or replaced?

Check the ribbon cables in side the TV that connect to the panel. They are the left side looking at the back. Make sure they are all seated propporly. If that does not fix, then your Upper Y Buffer board needs to be replaced.

How to replace the multifunction switch of a 2006 Dodge Ram

REMOVAL
WARNING: To avoid serious or fatal injury on vehicles equipped with airbags, disable the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) before attempting any steering wheel, steering column, airbag, seat belt tensioner, impact sensor, or instrument panel component diagnosis or service. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative (ground) cable, then wait two minutes for the system capacitor to discharge before performing further diagnosis or service. This is the only sure way to disable the SRS. Failure to take the proper precautions could result in accidental airbag deployment.

1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
2. Remove the screw (2) that secures the tilt steering column knob (1) and remove it from the tilt actuator (3) on the left side of the column.
3. From below the steering column, remove the two outboard screws that secure the upper column shroud (1) to the lower shroud (3).
4. Using hand pressure, press inward on both sides of the upper shroud above the parting line of the lower shroud to release the snap features that secure the two shroud halves to each other.
5. Remove the upper shroud from the lower shroud and the steering column.
6. Remove the one center screw that secures the lower shroud to the steering column (4).
7. Remove the lower shroud from the steering column.
8. Disconnect the wire harness connector (2) from the back of the multi-function switch housing (1).
9. Rotate the steering wheel far enough to access and remove the two screws (4) that secure the switch to the multi-function switch mounting housing (3).
10. Grasp the switch control stalk and pull it toward the left side of the vehicle to remove the switch from the mounting housing.

INSTALLATION
1. Slide the multi-function switch (1) into the multi-function switch mounting housing (3) from the left side. Be certain that the alignment pins on the top and bottom of the switch are properly engaged in the channels of the mounting housing.
2. Rotate the steering wheel far enough to install and tighten the two screws (4) that secure the switch to the mounting housing. Tighten the screws to 2 N·m (20 in. lbs.).
3. Reconnect the wire harness connector (2) to the back of the switch housing.
4. Position the lower shroud (3) onto the steering column (4).
5. From below the steering column, install and tighten the one center screw that secures the lower shroud to the steering column. Tighten the screw to 2 N·m (20 in. lbs.).
6. Position the upper shroud (1) onto the steering column over the lower shroud. On vehicles equipped with an automatic transmission, be certain to engage the gearshift lever gap hider into the opening in the right side of both shroud halves.
7. Align the snap features on the upper shroud with the receptacles in the lower shroud and apply hand pressure to snap them together.
8. Install and tighten the two outboard screws that secure the upper shroud to the lower shroud. Tighten the screws to 2 N·m (20 in. lbs.).
9. Position the tilt steering column knob (1) onto the tilt adjuster actuator (3) on the left side of the steering column, then install and tighten the screw (2) to secure the knob to the actuator. Tighten the screw to 2 N·m (20 in. lbs.).
10. Reconnect the battery negative cable.

I have vertical colored lines and cant read menu on my l32w761 envision lcd It seems to be shutting its self off also and the light blinks an orange color in place of the usual green

Hello,

On all the plasma tvs there are control boards on the lower part of the screen that control the vertical images. If one of the chips on one of the boards fail, have a bad connection, or no ground it will result in a thick black line down the screen.

IF YOU HAVE A SOLID BLACK LINE RUNNING VERTICALLY THEN YOU HAVE A FAULTY MATRIX INVERTER. IF CENTRAL THE MAIN VERTICAL INVERTER NEEDS CHANGED. LEFT = LEFT VERTICAL INVERTER RIGHT=RIGHT.........

ANOTHER WAY TO GET THIS FAULT IS WORN OR DAMAGED RIBBON/PLASTIC GOING FROM THE SCREEN MATRIX TO THE INVERTER
Good luck and take care in handling it ........

Samsung HPR-5052X Plasma issues. Recently started

If the picture os goint to lines right from the midpoint downward then most likely you will have to replace the lower y-buffer board part number BN96-02027A. The board is mounted on the left side of the plasma panel when you take the back off. The upper y-buffer board sounds like it is failing as well and this was a very common issue on the older Samsung plasmas. The part number for it is BN96-02026A. Please take a moment and rate my answer. Thanks...

Red lines on right hand side of the screen now no picture on right hand side!

I'm not an expert, but I have determined that the vertical bars that are often red, sometimes blue ... and sometimes both ... are related to a bad control board. I've also read that a common fix is to buy a repair kit with includes the ysus, zsus and control boards ... all replaced together. My experience was that after a month or two with the 1.5" wide stripes, that you eventually loose the entire picture and have sound only. MIne comes back, but won't stay working for very long and the stripes are always there (buy used to fade and flicker sometimes). I'm planning on replacing the control board.
