I am trying to connect to my ESP 5 printer via bluetooth from my Powerbook G4. It recognizes the printer but will not connect and gives me code: 200-1103. What is the problem and how do I correct it? Thanks.

To resolve the error, make sure your printer is connected to your computer either with a USB cable or through a wireless network.

If your all-in-one printer is connected through a wireless network:

  1. Open System Preferences.
  2. Open the Print & Fax from the Hardware section.
  3. Click the +.
  4. Highlight your all-in-one printer in the Bonjour list and click the Add button.

If your all-in-one printer is connected with a USB cable, the printer should be added automatically. If the error continues after connecting the USB cable, make sure:

  • USB cable is connected securely to the printer and computer
  • Printer is connected directly to your computer, and not through a USB hub or other device
  • You are using a USB High Speed 2.0 cable and the distance between printer and computer is less than 1.8 m (6 ft).

If the error continues:

  1. Disconnect the USB cable from the printer and computer.
  2. Connect the USB cable to the back of the printer; make sure it is securely connected.
  3. On your computer, open System Preferences, then select Print & Fax from the Hardware section.
  4. Connect the other end of the USB cable to your computer.
  5. Monitor the Print and Fax window; when the computer detects the printer it will appear in the printer list.
  6. If the printer does not appear:
    • Connect the USB cable to a different USB port on your computer.
    • If the error continues, use a different high-speed USB 2.0 cable.

NOTE: You can test your USB cable by connecting another USB device to your computer using the USB cable.

What does it say, besides the error code? I mean, the error text.

Hello.

You need to purchase an optional Kodak USB Bluetooth dongle, from Kodak ( http://www.kodak.com/go/accessories ).

Hope this helps.

  • Anonymous Feb 15, 2011

    Hello, again.

You didn't indicate, but I'm figuring the printer works OK connected via a cable.

I'd suggest to download the latest driver software:

    http://support.en.kodak.com/app/answers/...

    Hope this helps.

  • Anonymous Feb 15, 2011

    Yep.

Give this a try to reset the dongle:

        Remove the Bluetooth dongle.

Disconnect the power adapter from the printer.

Wait 30 seconds to allow the printer to reset.

Connect the power adapter to the printer. Turn the printer on if necessary.

Wait until the printer is ready to use.
Please let me know if there is another error code / message, if this doesn't work.

I don't know how to connect an external modem to my PowerBook G4 12

You need an Apple modem.

PowerBook G4 Mac Notebook: what is the icon immediately to the left of the an...

It's most likely the bluetooth icon. You can use bluetooth to up/download files from a bluetooth compatible phone, or other device into your laptop.
You need to "find" and "connect" both pieces of equipment to work together first.
Similar to a bluetooth headset with your phone.
Easy to do and then it's easy to transfer files..

Is your MacBook as fast as the Lacie Rugged Hard Disk is?

Because solid state drive wasn't available on MacBook Pro at the initial time when it launched. Hard drives on all current Apple laptops are equipped with Sudden Motion Sensor technology. In fact, the Apple laptops that came with Sudden Motion Sensor are: All Intel-based Apple portables such as the MacBook, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, PowerBook G4 computers starting with PowerBook G4 (12-inch 1.5GHz), PowerBook G4 (15-inch 1.67/1.5GHz), PowerBook G4 (17-inch 1.67GHz), and iBook G4 computers starting with iBook G4 (Mid 2005) have Sudden Motion Sensor technology. You MacBook may not have come with that technology that could be the reason you are unable to connect it.

Sorry mate... too many limitations on

My powerbook g4 won't recognize my external hd or my web cam but it recognizes my ipod.

I am not really sure but i think the Camara and the External Hard Drive have to be compatible with Apple I think so you can use it. An IPOD is made by Apple so thats why your G4 recognizes it. I would just buy like a USB Drive. And also try to download the Drivers also and you can do that by google-ing it that sort of think. Anyways just use a windows based computer Bro its much more efficient. Let me know how it goes alright.

Apple Powerbook G4 17in 1.33Ghz. Tiger OS. Airport problem.

I had a similar problem with my 15" 1.33GHz powerbook G4.
My problem was I couldn't connect to a network right away or at all, or wouldn't properly reconize the card (didn't drop it).

I solved it by removing the airport card from my PowerBook and putting it back into my G4. it should be in the same location.
it's underneath the battery pack.
1. power off your G4
2. remove battery pack
3. there is a latch on the right side (if the charger port is facing down), open it
4. pull back plastic cover tab and gently remove the antenna plug from the airport.
5. pull the plastic tab, until the airport card is removed, keep out for 30+ seconds to ensure it erases any corrupt log file on card it's self.
6 place airport card into the slot again, fully inserting it, it should go 1/8" - 1/4" into your powerbook
7. plug in the antenna plug back into your G4's airport(it should click 2x(very lightly)), flip plastic tab back over top the antenna cord, close you latch.
8. place battery back into your G4
9. plug computer in, turn on and it should work
if not then there is something wrong with the airport card reader, which i don't think it's the case here..

Connecting Powerbook G4 to Sharp Aquos LC-20D10-W

A few tries, go to the apple in the top left and choose SYSTEM PREFERENCES....it should bring you to:

f002663.png

In the HARDWARE row you should see DISPLAYS. Select that and you will be at:
0ceaf58.png

You have the DETECT DISPLAYS button, and also CLICK the "Show displays in menu bar" box, so you dont have to keep going through menus to configure.

If you look at the F7 key, to the right of the NUM LOCK key (F6), that key allows you to switch from expanded to mirroring or vice versa.

You can also check Apple's Knowledge base....
