My Nokia 5230 wont charge. I believe that the very small charging port is not passing on the power. The battery can be charged in another similar phone. Our charger will charge the similar phone. So it all points to the charging port being suspect. Is there a cheap solution? Can I charge the battery outside the phone?

just use a ziner diod neg leg of ziner sold to positive of charging connector and positive of ziner to battery connector plus ur problem will be solved

u can find ziner diod in old mobile like 1100 , 3300, 3310, 6600 etc.

Hi, if you N96 is not charging when plugged to a power supply outlet and the battery charges in another phone, then it obviously means the charging i.c in the phone is bad thereby affecting the charging port.
You need to get the phone to a mobile phone repair tech to replace the charging i.c. Meanwhile you can use a desktop charger to charge your battery pending the time you fix it....

Hi, you can not reset a battery. A battery can only get weak to power up a phone for too long due to the battery cell inside the battery that is weak and can power the phone for too long.

When you replace the battery with a new one, and charge the battery for about 4 to 6 hours, and insert the battery inside the phone. Then you can now say..Problem solved...

Before you conclude that the battery is the problem, i suggest, you get a similar charger to charge your phone first, if the similar charger charges the phone, then, ii means you are having charger problem, but if it does not charge the phone, you should be considering the idea of getting another battery to see if it will charge on your phone.

The problem can also be that, the charging port of your phone is bad, you can use your charger to charge a similar phone and see if it charges, if it does, then, the problem is either th battery or the charging port.

Check the following one after the other to detect what the problem is,

1. Try use a similar charger to charge your phone to see if it will charge.
2 Get a battery from someone that as a similar phone to test your phone to see if it will power up.
If it works with your phone, get a new battery for your phone, the one you have on it is dead and will need to be replace.

Since the battery and charger are new and yet it does not still hold charge.

Have put the battery in another similar phone and try to charge with your charger to see if it will hold charge? if you have.

It means the charging port of your phone is bad and you will need to replace it.

The charger is not charging the battery in anyway because the charging port is bad, so just change your charging port, your phone will now hold charge.

But if the battery is good, it means the charging port is bad, all you need to do is to change your charging port because that is the next action place to check.
