Remove the bag cover and feel for suction above the motor. If their is suction there then check the bag compartment is sealed. You can drop a coin down the hose to check for blockages all the way to where the bag attaches.
Tear apart all hoses and make sure no clogging, also take apart to expose motor and make sure their is no dust on motor, this will cause symptoms you are describing, another thing check Impeller fan and make sure the fan is running and not blocked if fan is not working then will need to replace Impeller.
Since you have replaced your Eureka 4870MZ 9200 Proheat 2x vacuum's belt, the issue may either be caused by your roller or the position of your belt. It sounds like as soon as your vacuum is lowered, the belt is either slipping or wear on the end caps is causing your roller to stop. This will cause the burning smell since your motor is now straining against the abrupt stop. Try taking off your roller and checking the conditions of the end cap or try to reinstall your belt. I know this is an old question but this is a good vac and maybe I can
help somebody else some day, wish I'd figured this out a couple months
ago when this problem first started. :} Anywho,
this is another option from an amateur; I don't know the right terms but
here goes: Right below the yellow flow knob (Floor/Hose) are the tops
of two hoses, one to floor beater, one leading to hose. There is a sort
of black clip holding these in place. Open it up, it hinges toward the
front of the vacuum. On the back of the vacuum to the right of the
lower cord wrap is a gray screw-looking thing, with little pix of locks
imprinted above - one locked, one unlocked. Turn the screw toward
unlock. Take the top of the black tube that leads to the hose and maneuver it out of the hole it's in, and you may find your clog in the top there. I found just a handful of dog hair, leaves and sticks stuffed in that tube but it was dense enough to stop flow to the hose. Removing it fixed the problem completely.
Make sure it is not the electrical outlet that has tripped. If not then you basically have 3 choices. Cord, switch, motor. A service tech. should be able to diagnose.
by the pic, its not an eureka, its a hoover w.t. s.p . if you removed the clog and still nothing, change the bag or clean the washable filter at the bottom of the bag.(belts should be changed every 6 months)
I no more use Eureka 4331 (Boss Lite). But the most common reason for not picking up dirt might be the vacuum bag might be full. Need to be Clean or replace as recommended by the manufacturer or The air filter traps particles as the air travels through the vacuum cleaner. If the filter is clogged, the vacuum cleaner will not have proper suction. If your vacuum filter is clogged, refer to your owner's manual for cleaning instructions. I recommend having Eureka Power Speed for yourself.
