There are a number of possible causes for this, but here's the most obvious and widespread one. If this doesn't work for you, please reply (instead of just downvoting) and we can look at some other possibilities. But try this first (if you ar eusing Google Chrome as a browser):

  1. In Google Chrome, click on Tools menu (a little wrench icon), then go to Options.
  2. Click on the Under the Hood tab.
  3. Under "Privacy" section, untick the check box for Use DNS pre-fetching to improve page load performance. I have got an internet - disable-chrome-dns-prefetching.jpg
  4. Click on the Close button.
  5. Refresh to reload the web page.

Eror 105 wifi

Error 105 is one of the most commonly faced errors by a lot of users everyday who are using Google chrome
Error 105 is a DNS resolution error. - Which means when you enter the URL of the website and hit enter in Google chrome, it tries to resolve the IP address of the website using a protocol called DNS (Domain Name System). If chrome is unable to reach the DNS server, the name resolution fails and you get the error 105.
Solution:
Once you have verified from your internet service provider that there is no problem on their end, follow the step by step instructions below.
We are simply going to add a manual DNS address in Windows so that chrome is able to resolve DNS queries.
1) Press [Windows Key + R] to open the "RUN Dialog"
Alternatively, you can also click on the start menu, type run in the search bar, and you will have the RUN Program.
Once you have the RUN box, type in ncpa.cpl and click OK - This would work for all Windows operating systems including Windows Xp, Vista and 7.
2) Next, Choose the correct network adapter (from the icons)
If you are connecting to the internet using an Ethernet cable, then most likely you are using a desktop computer. Right-Click "Local Area Connection" and click "Properties"
If you are connecting to the internet using a Wi-Fi Connection, then Right-Click on "Wireless Network Connection" and click properties
3) After you open the properties window, select "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)" and click "Properties"
4) Usually you would be having both the options set to "Automatic"
In the section below, select the "Use the following DNS Server Addresses" and enter the following values Preferred DNS Server - 8.8.4.4
Alternate DNS Server - 8.8.8.8
and click "OK", then click "CLOSE"
You must now test your new configuration by browsing a website - you can also try and browse the website you were trying to get to when you got the error 105.

Hello, after i tried to download a couple or so mcafee virus protection downloads i keep getting the DNS error 105 name not resolved message and can't load anything unless i restart my laptop in restore...

it seems that you have a problem connecting to the DNS server which is the server who knows how to resolve the internet address you enter into the IP.

did you change anything in your internet connection settings?
did you configure a router lately?

please do the follow:
  1. Start --> Control Panel --> Network Connections
  2. right click on your LAN and select properties
  3. scroll down to the IP/TCP and select it
  4. click properties
  5. check the "Obtain and IP automatically
if this doesnt work you should contact your ISP
