Amana ptac shuts on and off constantly

My Amana PTAC blows cold but constatntly shuts on and off and overall keeps the room cooler than it should. It just cant stay shut off for more that 10 seconds. Any advice?

My Amana ptac unit is blowing air but it's not coming out of the unit as cold as it should therefore never reaching the desired temp of 65...does my unit need 2 be recharged or are lines froze...???

it's known as the split. Room air going into the unit should be 10 to 12 degrees cooler coming out. Unit size, area to be cooled, insulation value and local weather are considered. If the split is close to the numbers the unit is doing all it can. If it's low on freon the evaporation coils will freeze and ice over.
