Hi there.. Model no# 110.2494.. I'm hoping that I can fix this myself if I knew exactly what's leaking. I know that it's probably hard without looking at the machine, but I do know that it's in the front of the machine at the box of goodies above the hoses. I checked all the hoses and they seem not to leak. I am able to run the machine through all cycles by putting a tray under the front and empting it after the washing is done, but I know it's only a matter of time before it going to get worse.. You have a bad pressure switch or the small hose connecting to the pressure switch may be bad
If the washer leaks water
when is filling only, check the following:
1.Fill
hoses
2.The water mixing valve 3.Filling injector ( If your washer uses one )
4.Filling spout
If the washing machine leaks during the wash cycle, check the
following: 1.The pump 2.The tub stem & seal
3.Tub to pump hose
4.The drain hose
5.Tub (rusted holes)
6.The drum support bolts
If the washing machine leaks during the spin cycle, check the
following: 1.The drain hose
2.The tub cover seal
3.The pump
4.The pump hoses 5.The stem & seal
6.The drum support bolts
Sounds like a leak either in the bottom, connector or water valve for your water inlet line. Visually finding the leak is your best bet, then you know what parts are to be replaced.
hose could be leaking going to your pump there are two attached to it, also the pump has a seal where it connects to the motor could be leaking there, and there is a tub seal. but it does sound like a hose came loose
couple of things to check, one make sure the drain hose is properly attached and no clogging. and also make sure all gakets are in good shape. and not worn out.
Depending on where exactly the leak is coming from, it could be a drain hose, drain pump, or tub seal. If this is a top-loader, here's how you can tell:
1. If the leak is coming from the BACK area under the washer, this can be caused by a leaking fill hose, dispenser hose, drain hose, or fill valve.
2. If the leak is coming from UNDER the center area of the washer, this could be your tub seal, a crack in the tub, or an air dome hose leak. NOTE: If the air dome hose is leaking, the washer will fill continuously and not turn off.
3. If the leak appears to be coming from the FRONT under the washer, this could be your drain pump, or drain hoses.
Posting a model number, could assist with determining how your washer is configured. I suspect you may have a drain pump leaking as this is the most common cause, but I want to be sure.
Many of the maytag toploaders have a rubber fill hose at the top of the outer drum. Sometimes if the machine is fully loaded (or overloaded), during the spin cycle if clothes are above the top of the drum they can actually knock the rubber flange of the hose out of the drum. Then when the machine fills with water, it will dump it down the outside of the tub and it will appear that the water is leaking from the top and side of the drum... Fix it by snapping the fill hose flange back into the hole in the top part of the drum... let me know how you do or need more help...
They are not any more prone to leak than any other brand of front loader. He needs to take the bottom cover off and look for the source with a flashlight while the machine runs through a cycle. It could be something simple like a drain or fill hose or something much more difficult like the tub gasket. He will know that it is a tub gasket the leak originates where the two sections of the drum are fastened together.
For those with water on floor after wash, check my post on "eco smart won't drain, smells hot". It could be something clogging drainage area at very bottom of the tub. I couldn't see the sock that was stuck in my FP's drain when I looked from the top between the white outer tub and the wash tub--everything looked fine. Then I removed the black motor/white plastic housing piece--Tip back washer and you should see this black electric motor/white housing on bottom. see my post for how to remove and check for plugged drain. it's really pretty easy.
don't know about outer tub holes, but glad i don't have that problem.
i hate my fisher paykel washer/dryer. i can't wait to sell this house--i will leave them here and get a new front load Duette for my next house!
If this only happens when the machine is filling the hose leading to the top of the tub may be leaking. Before it fills this hose is disconnected from the water supply by a closed solenoid valve. There are two valves which feed into a common hose that comes up to the top of the tub where the water runs into the tub. The leak does not happen after the tub fills because all the water leaks out and no new water runs in. These hoses are usually very small and very inexpensive and held on with clamps. They can usually be replaced by removing a small panel near the hose attachment location.
