Run cleaning utility - Dell A920 InkJet Printer

Issue 1 - It may be clogged and needs cleaning. I'll bet you can do it yourself but remember a vacuum can reate a static charge.

Issue 2 - Something is running in the background causing it to go FULL THROTTLE. Find a good Utility like Glary Utilities and install it and see what's running that you may ot be aware of.

The question is very vague. Is this a new problem? If it ran OK before, go to Accessories - System Tools - System Restore and pick a date that it worked OK on, the run System Restore.

A free utility "CCleaner" (with two "C"s) can be downloaded from www.download.com . This FREE utility will first clean up your Windows files. Next go the Registry clean up and run the Registry Clean up. You do not need to make any choices in the Registry clean up. Just select to clean up and save a backup. In the Windows clean up you can chose to save or remove the cookies in the options list.

You should also be running a good Anti-Virus program. If not you can download AVG Free from the same place.

This should solve most of your problems. I've lost customers giving this advice as they didn't need to bring in their computers afterwards.

Finally you should De-Fragment you drive(s) to speed up file and program access. To run, go to your My Computer and right click on the hard drive. Select Properties, Tools, Defragment Drive.

There are many other good utilities and anti-virus programs out there. I just suggested a couple of easy to use reliable ones.

There should be a utility that runs a program that will clean the ink jets. check your manual. there also may be a button on the printer.
check the printer settings in the control panel, there should be a link to the printer software that allows you to run the cleaning utility.

First of all please check the ink level. If it is not finished try followings:

First try to run a cleaning cycle. To do that:
- Load paper in the paper tray. - Access printer utilities. (Right click your printer icon, select printing preferences and click the utility tab to access printer utilities) - Click the nozzle check icon. - Print to check it.
Then click the clean button to clean the print head. - Try it a few times.
İf it doesn't help you can try to run power cleaning cycle. But it uses much ink. There must be enough ink in the cartridge.

Run the Head Cleaning utility to clear any clogged ink nozzles. To run the Head Cleaning Utility, follow the instructions below.

For Windows users:

1) Make sure that your printer is ON and the error light is off.

2) Access the printer software.

3) Click the Utility tab, then click the Head Cleaning button.

4) Follow the on-screen instructions

5) When the power light stops flashing, click Print nozzle check pattern in the Head Cleaning dialog box to confirm that the head is clean and to reset the cleaning cycle

If you find that any segments are missing from the nozzle check pattern, you may need to repeat the head cleaning and print the pattern again.

Or u could consult the user manual
u should let the ink settle for 12-24 hrs???

On yourcomputer go to Start > All Programs then find teh HP prointer folder and execute teh prointer utilities. You need to executre the cleaning utility. After executing teh cleaning utility you will want to run teh cartridge alignment utility.

Thes are teh two biggest issues with ink ject printers - cleaning and cartridge alignment.

- System Preferences
- Print & Fax
- Select Epson Stylus Photo 2200
- Open Print Queue
- In the top right corner of the Queue window click the Utility button
- Epson Printer Utility will open where you can check the levels and run cleanings and nozzle checks, etc.

Try to run the head cleaning utility of your printer. The printer cartridges may be clogged and this can easily be resolved by at least a couple of runs on the head cleaning utility.

I cannot remember if the tools menu is embedded in the properties of the printer driver. The previous poster I believe is correct. If it does not appear, go to start, run, all programs, then select the HP or Hewlett Packard section and look for an HP Toolbox or similar utility that will have options for cleaning/aligning/testing the printer..

did you remove the ribbons from the new carts ?

did you go thro the epson utility to replace the ink ?
