I have a Sharp R-1505 1000 Watt Microwave. Yesterday I tried to heat up 2 plates of food. I heated the first in about 2 minutes with no problems. I went to heat the 2nd plate & it would not heat up. I tried for about 6 minutes, but the food was stone cold. There was no smoke, loud noise, any problems, etc, after heating the 1st plate of food - what could have happened?? I've tried to use it a couple more times today and it is just not working. Also, everything comes on - the light, fan, the turntable rotates, etc. - it just does not heat up food. Please help - thank you!

There are three common issues, magnetron "heats food" cracked high voltage diode, or a shorted high voltage capacitor. In order to find out you will need a professional to assess, it will be probably cheaper to replace the microwave oven.
The turntable system typically consists of the motor, the coupler, the turntable support with rollers, and the tray.
Here is a video of how a turntable motor should sound when you rotate it by hand.
If
yours is not set to be off via the control panel, and it won't rotate
or it sounds like it's grinding, etc., you may have a bad motor or
plastic coupler.
To
replace either, you need to unplug power, then remove the bottom cover
of the oven.

> Will the food be evenly heated even though the plate is not rotating?
No.

If all appears to be running as its working but just no heat. Could be issue with magnetron. You could also have loose connections to magnetron or somewhere in high voltaged as well.
the plate has nothing to do with the microwave heating up the food
but the magnetron that heat the food is bad and will need replacing
I would ask a electronic shop how much they would charge to replace it , and if is not worth it to you then a new one would be a good call
