Understanding Windows Defender

Real-Time spyware protection alerts you when spyware and other potentionally unwanted software attempts to install itself on your computer. Depending on the alert level, you can choose one of these to apply to the software.

Quarantine: Moves the software to another location on your computer, and the prevents it running until you choose to restore it or move it from your computer.

Remove: Permanently deletes the software from your computer.

Allow: Adds the software to the Windows Defender allowed list and allows it to run on your computer. Windows Defender will stop alerting you risks that the software might pose to your privacy or your computer. Add Software to the allowed list - only if you trust the software and the software publisher.

You can choose the software and settings you want Window Defender to monitor, but recommend that you use all the real-time protection options, called agents Real Time Protection Agents!!!!

I hope the above information is of some use!!

How to load backup from one computerWindows XP (now on Verbatim USB 320) to a new computer running Windows 7

This is not really a solution but for information. There is no direct upgrade path from Windows XP to Windows 7. So, unless you have a compatible program installed on your Windows 7 PC, you will not be able to import a backup from your XP PC. (To My Knowledge).

My verbatim CDRs burn OK but will not function correctly on CD players, except my PC and TV players. I have no problems with other brands of CDRs. Ray Kennedy

Some CDRs are not compatible with regular CD players. Check your cd player for CDr compatibility before using such a disc in that device. Computer CD-ROM players are more forgiving.
