SOURCE: HOW DO I FORMAT AN SD CARD FOR MY PANASONIC LUMIX

be sure it is not blocked. (it has a locking button on the side) and after that into the menu of the camera look for format reset card ...this is the best way to do it cause it will format it on the way camera will support it ...Beware cause this will delete all your pictures..
usually the format feature will be on the view picture mode...around the option for delete single or multiple picks..
but if this is too hard ..just nsert the card into a card reader in a laptop or computer ...go to my computer folder...it will be seen as a removable storage device ..click right on it ..and than format ...choose to format in fat 32 not in ntfs cause the camera may not read it after that ..
so ...fat or fat 32 will be the mode...and if you have patience do not do it in the quick mode..cause it may cause damages in the long term ..(after a few times)

SOURCE: Video compatiablity problems

Do not try to use the same card from another camera. You run the risk of losing all your pics and possibly corrupting the card and the camera. Download any pics from the card to the computer using a separate card reader if necessary. Then, if you want to use the card in your new camera, format it in the camera first.

SOURCE: panasonic lumix dmc-tz1 SD card - card reader

My guess is either the cardreader or its driver is outdated. Search for the latest driver for this reader, as well as others with a similar problem as your, on the internet. The reader itself may also be hardware defective.

You can get a very good, but dated, laptop with USBs on ebay at a good price. The other alternative, if you have a dated laptop, then you can get a PCMCIA Card-to-USB converter card for your computer at a low price on either ebay or Amazon. Amazon sells used product too.

SOURCE: My Lumix DMC ZS7 reads

SD and SDHC cards fit the same slots, but they are slightly different electrically. Many cameras won't work with SDHC (high capacity) cards. SDHC is not backwards compatible.

If your manual doesn't specifically mention SDHC cards or memory card size bigger than 2GB, then the camera almost certainly won't work with SDHC. My Lumix won't work with anything larger than 1GB SD.

Which sd card is the best card for a pansonic dmc-zs7 camera, to shoot a lot of video?

You need a class 6 card for smooth video. A class 4 sometimes works but a class 6 always works. Stick with the name brands.

Cannot format a maxwell class 2 4 gb card for my lumix dmc-lc33

The DMC-LC33 is designed to work with SD cards. Your 4GB card is actually an SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity) card. While it fits into the slot it will not work. You need to use SD cards, 2GB and smaller.

Lumix DMC-LC33 shows memory card error -format this card? Yes or NO..no matter the Sd card , if select yes- no results, if select no - no results.

This normally happens when the memory card gets corrupt. Hope you have pressed OK after selecting YES. Check whether the card is locked. SD card has a small Lock button on the top left. If this fails, buy a new SD card and format it in the camera before taking any image.
