Hi. I just got my Lifecam VX 1000 to use on Skype. I downloaded the software from microsoft, and it seemed to be working fine until the middle of my first skype call. I suddenly couldn't hear my friend,...

If she can hear you - your mic is fine
The most likely cause would be her mic or your speakers - did you make your speakers default in Skype?

Can't adjust mic volume

You have to go to your control panel, click sounds, and find the microphone, when you go to properties it will have an adjustment bar.

I had this problem and just discovered this last night after having this webcam for 3 months!

HI,
OK, you need to do the following to turn off your Webcam Mic.

1. Right Click On Volume Icon in System Tray
2. Click Open Volume Control
3. Click On Options When The Mixer Appears.
4. Select Properties
5. Adjust The Volume For Recording
6. Then Just Look For The Mic Channel on the Mixer & Set it to Mute or if ut's not available, turn the Volume Fader for the Mic Right Down,

Microphone not working ?

I have seen situations in the past where a woman especially would not modulate her voice well enough to make good sound on her mic, other then that, make sure your mic volume is set fairly high. Also if the situation is not cleared by the previous two suggestions look for newer audio drivers for your system ( whatever that may be ), a.k.a. motherboard audio driver or sound card drivers depending on what hardware you have installed

Lifecam video works great - but no audio!

do a cam/mic test in the audio/video settings in the tools tab in yahoo/msn. Then you need to minimise the yahoo/msn screen and right click on the cam icon in the taskbar and check that the mic and cam are enabled and that it is set to allow other programes to take control of this device
