In kodak easyshare cd 14 digital camera is not responding to usb port . it is diffculty to transfer data from camer to computer

Have a look in the manual, but I suspect not - that port is probably for data transfer, not power or charging battery.

Install the EasyShare software. Locate the CD-ROM that came with your digital camera. Insert the disc into the CD drive on your computer and follow the prompts on the screen to install the software. If you no longer have the EasyShare CD-ROM, you can visit Kodak.com to download the software and then install it as normal.

Connect the USB cable to your camera. With your digital camera turned to the off position, locate the USB cable that was included with your camera and insert it into the appropriate slot located on either the side or the bottom of your camera, depending on the model number.

Connect the USB cable to your computer. With your camera still in the off position, insert the free end of the USB cable that you connected to your camera to a free port on your computer.

Turn the camera on. Once your camera is turned on, your EasyShare software will appear and it will locate your camera and sync it with the software. If the software does not begin, turn your camera off, wait 30 seconds and then turn it on again.

Select a location for your photos. Once your camera is recognized by the software, a pop-up will appear asking where you would like your photos to be stored. The default selection is the EasyShare folder but it can be changed to whatever location you would like.

Select your settings. Before being able to transfer your photos to your computer, you must select some important settings. These are important settings such as whether you want your digital camera to delete the pictures as they are being loaded onto the computer. You can also select whether or not you want your camera to automatically start transferring your photos as soon as the camera is plugged in. The options will vary depending on what type of camera you have.

Transfer your photos. Once all of your settings are selected, simply press the button that says transfer. Your photos will then begin to transfer from your camera into the folder you selected earlier.

Consider NOT connecting the camera to the computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

Easy shares are set up so they won't respond when plugged in to usb. When you turn the camera on and then run the easyshare program and lastly connect the usb cable, then the pictures and video will transfer to the computer.
You can also take the SD card out of the camera and put it in your computer and transfer pictures that way as well.

I understand there is no reaction from the computer what so ever.. (?)

Possible solutions:
Remember you need to turn the camera on when transferring.
Try a different USB outlet
Try a different cable
Try a different computer.

If this doesn't solve your issue. Do write back with a specific fault code.

Transferring pictures/videos with the USB cable
1 Turn off the camera.
2 Plug the labeled end of the USB cable into the USB port on your computer.
3 Plug the other end of the USB cable into the USB port on the camera.
4 Turn on the camera.
Note: EasyShare software opens on your computer. The software prompts you through the transfer process.

Try opening the Kodak software first, then turn the camera on. I've found that you need the Kodak program to transfer the pictures from the camera. I personally do not like this, my old camera (also Kodak) would act like a plane old flash card/removeable device, this new one doesn't.
Anyhow, I find it super easy to just take the SD card out and pop it into the media slot in my printer. Then just open explorer and it's there just like any other hard drive or CD/DVD drive and transfer them to where ever you like.
If your printer or computer doesn't have a slot for SD cards you can get one that plugs into a USB port, pretty cheaply at any store that sells computer products.

I don't think it is a problem. Just connect the data cable to your camera and plug it to ur computer and u will see USB dvices (Removable Devices). Look if ur camer popups something (usb,bridge,etcl Removable Devices or USB is recommended

My kodak easyshare camera will not transfer my photos to the computer. Everything is plugged in and the camera is blinking but nothing is happening. Please help. I checked the connections, they are fine.
