Just notice blue lights flashing in the car. I unlocked, from inside the house, and manually locked from the lock on the inside door. That stopped the flashing blue lights. What has caused this? zeldahof@comcast.net

Thanks for clarifying the reason for the flashing lights. System is brand new and have not looked out the window at night, before last night. Good feature for sure. Thanks again

Do not be alarmed; the blue light is flashing because you used the remote to lock/arm the vehicle. It is a visual theft deterrent, even if you do not have an alarm. It's normal. The reason the light stopped flashing is because you unlock the vehicle with the remote and locked it with the door switch.

Hi Larry, Just installed Viper 5101. I noticed blue light flashing when car is locked using the remote. As per reply that is common. But my question is that is blue light flashing all night, it is eat the car battery. i think car battery will dead if lights are on all night. please advise

No, the flashing blue light WILL NOT drain your battery. The current draw is somewhere near 7Ma, nearly nothing while the current draw for the memory power in your radio may be somewhere near or at 10Ma.

2003 VW GOLF REAR door wont open

The rear door lock actuator has failed in the door locking unit this is a common problem you can manually unlock the door to replace the latch if you didn't have the deadlocking on if you cant try pressing the locking button twice so when the car is locked the flashing red light is not blinking ie off on the drivers. Doing this usually causes the faulty lock to release the dead locking so you can pull the inside handle to unlock the door.

this can be a big problem so will start on easiest first. and try to repair as going, the passenger door the problem with this could be the solenoid for the door lock. and or the switches in the lock. driver door has the same but is the master door. ie if you open door from unlocking at pass door it will only open this door, drivers side will open all doors. flashing hazards this could be because the alarm is not completely turned off this could be because of the doors, mainly the drivers side. try to find the fault with the door lock and get back to me when you have found the fault. you will need a meter to check for volts and the switches, check them as lock unlock from the inside and the key to make sure they working. dpd spray should be able to clean them if you can spray into the lock and housing that is plastic. give a good flush out after its working wipe up the mess from the spray and mear grease on the lock moving parts.

Parking lights will flash when the vehicle's battery is disconnected and reconnected.
To stop lights from flashing, either:
Press remote transmitter "UNLOCK" button once OR turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position and press programming button for one second (see below).
The vehicle interior (courtesy) light and door open warning light (DOOR AJAR indicator) will then illuminate for 60 seconds when the ignition is turned off, or until the doors are locked with the remote transmitter. Yes, the dashboard instrument panel lights will flash when the parking lights flash.

Programming or Overriding the Alarm when you have lost the remote
Open driver's door.
Turn ignition key to 'On'
Press and *hold programming button* in (see diagram, button under dashboard)
After 15 seconds the the door locks will cycle 3 times. Do not release Programming button.
Press lock (left) button the remotes to be programmed. The door locks will cycle one time. Exit programming mode by releasing Programming button under dashboard and turning key to off.

codealarmremote1.jpgCode Alarm Programming Button is under dashboard on the kick panel by the driver's left knee, left of the steering column. If you can't find it, it might still be tucked up in the wiring harness higher up in that same general area. The botton is recessed in a plastic ring (see diagram).
This button must be pressed while programming remotes or if the battery was disconnected and the lights are flashing.

Camry 1996 automatic power lock doen't work, but windows work.

if you can here relays when unlocking/locking check for power at door lock actuators inside doors, if you have power on lock/unlock and good earth from connector actuators are faulty.
if no power on test light when operating check output from central door lock module while operating, none coming out of module then it might need replacing.
check 30Amp power fuse for main relay under bonnet (which goes to pin 8 white/blue on module)and 10Amp gauge fuse in cab(pin 1 blue/red on module),pin 15 is also power when relay is on(red/blue) with test light, and module/ actuators.
check outputs from module pin 3 & 4
blue/red
blue/black
that go to door locks
