Playing eve im trying to put 2 computers on a belkin wireless g router to play a game called eve online but the router will not even let me play eve on one computer

only way i solved it was to go into advanced configuration and turn off firewall when i want to use it for gaming. specifically black ops.

Well fer a start you should'nt be sitting round al day playing games. Maybe gitcher but off the sofa and mow the lawn like you said you were gunna do last week.

what about to set the ps3 ip address on the DMZ for the router that will give all the ports open to that address and will play freely
try go to advance settings and firewall or game and applications there is where you will set dmz application .

try assigning a static IP address in the range of belkin router for your computer and PS3...that is 192.168.2.X (where X = 2 to 254)
the default gateway should be 192.168.2.1.... Log into your router and enable DMZ for the IP address assigned to your PS3...Goto Virtual servers in the router setup page and open the concerned ports for playing games in your computer(enter computer IP here in virtual servers)....the common gaming ports would be,
port 80 TCP,UDP
port 88 TCP,UDP
port 3074 TCP,UDP
port 53 TCP,UDP

click apply changes and try playing now... you can also restart the router for working better.... enjoy....

If your wireless you probably need to change broadcast channels on the router ( to the last channel) if its hard wired, you probably need to port forward the ip address for the Xbox

Actually you don't need to forward ports when playing online games. The router should automatically locate the ports for the game because it has UPnP function. Here's what you can do. Disable the port forwarding and DMZ that you set on the router. Look for the UPnP function of the router and disable, Save it. Enable it again, then save. Now power cycle your router. If you have Static IP on the PS3 network settings, try to set it first to automatic IP and automatic DNS.

it sounds like you need to keep using your usb modem to connect to the internet. then setup internet sharing on the computer and connect the wireless router to the network plug on the computer.....

then basically you are sharing the internet to the plug on the back of the pc into the router and then wirelessly out to the network and PS3

I experienced the same problem. I have the ps2 slim. The problem was so bad that i had the slim for about 3 years and still could not play any ea games online. About 2 months ago i finally got it to work though, allowing me to play madden ncaa and many other sports games from ea. I also have dsl broadband just like you. I do not have a router though. I just hooked my ethernet cord straight into the back on the ps2, my computer is really close by. I would reccomend a router though.

Enough of this bs though. Now solving the problem. There was actually a firewall keeping me from connecting to ea servers. Which in turn meant no ea account and no ea play online. Go onto your computer and turn your FIREWALLS OFF. This still may not work though. I done this and an unknown firewall was still blocking it. THERE WAS A FIREWALL IN MY MODEM.
CALL UP YOUR INTERNET SERVICE PEOPLE AND TELL THEM TO TAKE THE ******* THING OFF SO U CAN ******* PLAY. I ALSO FOUND THAT LIMEWIRE WOULD NOW WORK ON MY COMPUTER AS WELL.
By doing this you will open peer to peer connections with other programs and players online.
