First things first. if any dryer regardless of brand takes 2-3 hours to dry cloths 90% of the time it is your exhaust duct. take the exhaust duct off the back of the dryer and dry some clothes if the clothes dry fast then you need to have your exhaust duct cleaned. either DIY or call a professional
if it still takes a long time to dry then it could be the thermostats or the thermistor.
but in my experience its normally the exhaust duct.

Dryer model # lte5243dq3 take to long to dry clothes

Hi,

If your dryer is not drying like it once did or if you just have not taken the time to give yourself a clean dryer in a long time then you need to do that. At least once a year the dryer cleaning should take place. Lint build up in the dryer duct is one of the main causes for your dryer to fail.

Intelli sensor doesn't read that clothes are wet, just damp.does not get clothes dry in intelli cycle.does get them dry in timed cycle.already replaced sensor.

do you stack clothes on top? If so take them off and try another load and never ever put anything on top. It insulates it and makes the dryer not run right. Good Luck

It takes a long time to dry a load of clothes

sounds as if you may have an issue with a blocked/clogged ventin, perhaps wher it leaves the home, a unit that is not able to expell the heat will tend to not dry the clothes properly, 2-3x to dry a good sign of venting issue

Hello: I have a Maytag, do not know model # as I inherited the 5 year old model when I purchased a condo and it is now 7 years old. The front of it states Maytag - Dependable Use, Heavy Dtuty - Large...

I ALWAYS START WITH VENTING WHEN CALLED WITH LONG DRYING TIMES BUT I HAVE SEEN WHERE ONLY HALF OF THE HEATING ELEMENT IS WORKING, WHICH IS PRETTY RARE. A NORMAL LOAD WOULD BE WHATEVER THE WASHER HAD IN IT WHICH WOULD BE LOOSLY FILLED TO THE TOP ROW OF HOLES IN THE WASHER TUB. THE ONLY OTHER QUESTION I WOULD ASK IS IF THE WASHER SEEMS TO BE SPINNING OUT PROPERLY AND IF THE CLOTHES ARE GOING INTO THE DRYER TOO WET.

Dryer takes forever

You have a clog somewhere in the venting. Anywhere between the lint screen and the outside of the house. Use a vaccum with a crevice tool to reach behind the lint screen. Also check the flaps on the outside of the house. You can also access the machine end of the vent pipe by removing the two Phillips screws on the angled panel just below the dryer door. If you feel you need to take apart the machine further to clean behind the lint screen, write back. It's very tricky, and will take some time, but I can walk you through it.
Good luck!
