Hello, usually a ringing or buzzing sound comes from the solenoid valve on the humidifier. Make sure that the solenoid valve is getting a solid stream of water to it, sometimes if there is not a good stream of water the solenoid will buzz. if that checks out good than replace the solenoid vlave.

Humidifier making noise.not steaming

This is an indication that the power supply has issues. You would have to take it apart to check and see what is wrong.

I have an Aprilair humidifier that started making a loud humming/buzzing noise. The water runs OK but the soloniod is burning hot to the touch. Is this normal?

Yeah they do need to be replaced from time to time. Make sure you get a water test kit and check your water hardness. You may need a whole home water filter if it is outside of normal ranges. A pretty easy DIY project and relatively inexpensive at the big box stores

Hello kitty humidefier has started making a loud noise and sometimes it goes off but more often noise stays on longer. Almost sounds like a loud fan. What do I do?

This sounds like the electric motor bushings are worn which will cause vibration throughout the unit. If it is relatively new I recommend checking the warranty information and returning it to the retailer for a replacement. If you have gotten your money out of it but cannot tolerate the noise, then a replacement is in order as well. The cost of replacing the motor and installing it will most likely exceed the cost of a new humidifer.

Continous water flow on a 1042lh humidifer

theholts220 - Sounds like they needed to install a bit larger transformer . You can also buy a A 50 Sensing relay that attaches to the wires for your motor and when you turn on the furnace it will allow the power to go to the humidistat. Very strange though they do not use a lot of power. Check and make sure the wires are not pinched or touching metal somewhere.

TLuzzo - The humidistat seems to be working when you turn it down. The wires for the solenoid should be hooked up to your furnace circuit board. The instruction manual will tell you where. If you dont have a spot on your circut board the A 50 sensing reley is they way to go. They are inexpensive

Replace the water valve... It"s vibrating when closing. Do you have hot water feeding the unit?

Hunter humidifer

I dont know why your humidifier is spitting water out.

But it sounds like you need to clean the unit and install a new filter. Once the filter becomes used, the humidifier won't work as well. Less water will be used because the clogged filter can't hold as much. Once you replace the filter, your water consumption should go back up and you should feel a difference in your home again.

Good Luck.
