Hi there,
You can download the sound drivers from the link below,
For Windows XP
For Windows 7
When you will download the driver for your windows, simply extract the files from the Zip folder, You require Winzip or Winrar to open the zip file, it can also be opened with the windows, After extracting of drivers , Run the setup file to install the drivers,
If it prompts you to find the new hardware found and prompts you to browse for drivers, simply navigate to the folder where you extracted the drivers (e.g C:\download\realtek), and it will pick the drivers from the defined location, when done restart your laptop and you should hear the sound when it boots up again
If you require more assistance, feel free to reply to this post,
Thanks for contacting FixYa!
Regards,
Bilal
Hi
I believe if you do this it will install the good audio driver which should also make the mic work as well
go to the start key bottom left of the keyboard
then up to programs
then over to the right to acer empowering technology
then over the right again to acer erecovery management and click on it
then choose reinstall aplications/drivers
then click on the contents
then scroll down to the audio driver or application that you want to reinstall
You can always download the user manual from the box where you chose the contents from
instead of choosing the contents choose the manual instead
good luck
