Observe the new batteries are the most compartible to the camera and also check that the batteries are installed appropiately. Inserting the batteries where positve is at positive and negative is at negative is most appropaite. Observe the batteries compartment to acquire the manufacturers demarkations on which area requires negative and positive side to the batteries being inserted in camera.

Change the batteries message keeps appearing even with fresh batteries. The camera turns on then immediately turns off What's up?

This actually a really common problem among Canon point and shoot cameras. There are a couple of methods that have worked well for others.

1. Open the battery compartment and remove the batteries. Then take a regular wooden pencil and place the eraser end down onto the battery contacts. Rotate the pencil to remove any corrosion. Sometimes a lack of proper battery contact will result in the low battery indicator.

2. Take a toothpick and wedge the tip under the battery contact and break it off. This will put more pressure between battery and contacts.

You can also try installing 3rd party firmware at http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/CHDK_in_Brief
This is a bit technical and will probably void your warranty, but might be worth the try.

Clean battery terminals inside camera battery compartment, this model tends to get battery terminals clogged and causing no power up problem.

Even with new batteries, the camera turns off after a few seconds

Be sure you have real fresh Alkaline batteries or fresh recharched NiMh batteries.
The best rechargeable batteries are the ENELOOP (from Sanyo), these have a very, very low discharge, so after a week the camera still works without the problem of turning off after a few seconds.

My camera won't turn on.

Try cleaning the battery contacts with a Q-tip and some denatured alcohol. Also clean the ones inside the battery compartment.

Won't turn on

How "fresh" are the batteries. Quite often they are weak, right out of the package. We revive a lot of "dead" cameras with Energizer Lithium AA batteries. Many cameras that people are ready to write-off, are resurrected with the Energizer Lithiums. I also think that battery manufacturers are not putting as much "juice" in them as they used to.

Pentax K100D will not power up

First make sure you are using fresh lithium batteries. These cameras indicate low batteries quite early on. Rechargeables even when freshly charged are marginal.

If the problem persists remove the batteries. Set the camera switch to the off position. Set the focus switch to manual. Wait at least a minute. Then replace the batteries and switch on again.

Operating with low batteries can confuse the firmware and it may be stuck in a low-battery loop. If this is the case this should reset the camera by allowing the electronics to power-down completely.

If this does not work you wiil have to contact pentax support.

Samsung s730 wont turn on even with fresh batteries???

The lens mechanism is jamming by the sounds of it.
You may be able to free it with gentle manipulations
I guess there is no repair option.
