Installing error code -106

Upon install process it makes it to about 8% then gives the following error code. ComponentMoveData had the following error: media name: data Componet: app-photoshop\web file group: web file: adobeweb.dll error number: -106 (refer to the online help) Then when I click ok it shows this message: An error occurred during the move data process: -106. So when I hit ok it closes it all out. I really need this software loaded and Adobe does not support this version anymore. Any help will be greatly appreciated. I suggest go to Start/Settings/Control Panel/Add remove programs.
Check and see if the program is in list and remove it. While in control panel go to system/Device Drivers check non have a yellow mark on them if so reinstall drivers or upgrade Reboot and try again.

Error 106

Error 106 occurs when installing the programme
This might be down to a conflict with another programme, shut down all other applications when installing.
It can also be caused by a dirty or damaged CD installation disc, some files may not decompress correctly
You might find it is also caused by insufficient free disc space
Finally, make sure you have the latest net framework installed

http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?DisplayLang=en&id=19

This version was compatible with Photoshop 7, but you might find you need a later version

Getting an error 106 while installing adobe photoshop 7

Error Number 106 indicates that the installer cannot decompress a file. This can happen if the CD-ROM is dirty or damaged, if hard disk space is insufficient, or if the installer conflicts with an application or device driver.

Please clean your install disk with a lint-free cloth. If that still does not work, check to make sure you have the 280MB minimum hard disk space available.

Error 106 (net::ERR_INTERNET_DISCONNECTED): The Internet connection has been lost.

The error "ComponentMoveData...Error Number: -106..." indicates that the installer cannot decompress a file. This can happen if the CD-ROM is dirty or damaged, if hard disk space is insufficient, or if the installer conflicts with an application or device driver.

((this is what I'm not exactly clear on))

You could try copying the contents of your CD-ROM (or the essential folders) to your HDD or a network drive. You will soon find out of there is dirt or damage on the CD, and if not, you can easily then install from your HDD or network drive.
try installing the photoshop in safe mode......

Photoshop 7.0 installation fails with the error message: "An error occurred during the move data process : -106" Upon install process it makes it to about 1% then gives the following error code....

one problem that could cause this error is lack of administrator rights,

right button click the setup.exe or whatever it called and select run as administrator,

Or if it's Vista try the compatiblity help , right button click the app, select properties and select run as XP service pack2 etc

Computer won't load Windows

Hello,
1. What the motherboard you had been using
2. Whats the HDD

Check that your motherboard supports the higher HDD
Upto 80GB HDD Windows can load the XP with servicepack 1
But after 80GB HDD supports the WIN XP with service pack 2 CD only.  Try to install with the winxp having above sp1.

Installing error code -106

what this suggests is that the files cannot be transfered to the hard drive because of either you havent the latest version of .net http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=0856eacb-4362-4b0d-8edd-aab15c5e04f5&DisplayLang=en, or you are low on hard drive space or afaulty disc. download from the above link first, then if still not installing try copying all the installation files across to your pc and try again, but check you have enough hard drive space.
