Sony VAIO RA820G TV Tuner driver (Vista SP1)

Hi, can you please tell me where I can get the driver for the TV Tuner Card for my Vaio PC? I tried Sony Support, but since my PC is Vista SP1, the driver update software keeps saying my OS is "not Vista".

Or... If you can tell me the brand and model of the Tuner, I can google it.

Thanks!

I need the driver for Sony Vaio 1-860-696-51 ENX-26

only sony has drivers for their cards./
and ONLY on some OS types and versions.
no OS told by you , so cannot point to them easy.
the PC came new with this card TV tuner.???????
a 2005 made PC
with TV card.
you posted with no OS told
this PC is XP era PC, only, and is and XP virus magnet from H3LL
and if you upgraded the OS , then you learned fast many things fail.
as is normal not asking Sony first if upgraded OS is allowed.
sony just dropped all w7 driver support. 7/2020
https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/desktop-pc-vgc-series/vgc-ra830g/articles/00248056

sony web site is near impossible to navigate
the driver page is useless.
just this
Unfortunately, there currently are no downloads for this product.
RIP Sony
if you google this for drivers, 99% are fully virus infected
that is the door prize , not buying newer PC with real support
NO OS told at all.

we no it came with XP
but what was allowed is nowlost
but seems XP to W7 by their hint above w7 was dropped.
was allowed then , not now. a sony policy, forced EOL.

I'd contact them directly.

Need TV Tuner drivers for Sony Vaio VGX-TP3Z/B

Google for and use a free program called 'cpuz' to identify your system components. Also try using device manager to determine the manufacturer/serial of your TV tuner chip/card.

Once you have determined the type/serial, have a look on google again to see if there are any links for the specific driver. If not, you could always try http://www.drivershq.com/Drivers/VistaDevices/Sony-TV-Tuner-Card-Driver/51593/Drivers.aspx Driver Detective.....even if you can't use it to download the driver (I think you have to pay), at least it will identify the one you need to focus on.

By the way, have you tried the device manager/right click on device/update driver/search online option yet??

Hope this helps.

I have upgraded my Sony Vaio VGC-RA830G to windows vista home premium, however, am having trouble with the tv tuner card drivers. I cannot find them at all for vista

Hi,

Windows Vista is still behind providing drivers for tv tunners....unless you buy new ones designed for vista. If you had your tv tuner for xp and it worked fine on that operating system than I am afraid that you are going to have to buy a new one for vista.

How ever you may find that microsoft or the third part supplier may be on the process of supplying software for your tv tunner.

Please let me know what happens woth you... I would be grateful to if you could let me have the serial number and the model number so that I can do research for you and try and help you out.

Regards,

Philip

You'll need to go to the sony website and download the MPEG encoder Driver. http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-download.pl?mdl=PCVV200G&upd_id=1415&os_id=7.
You might want to download the latest update drivers from this site also.

Vaio pc problems

Hi, There is a problem with the tv tuner card in the Computer. Go to Control Panel, double click on System, (if you don't see system, in the top left pane of that window, click switch to classic view). In the dialog box that appears, click on the hardware tab, then click on device manager. In this window, see if there is any yellow question mark icon beside the tv tuner device. If there is, then you will need to reinstall the software driver that came with it or you can download it from the internet. If there is no yellow question mark, then just double-click on the device and check the device status to make sure it says "this device is working properly". If it doesn't say this, then there is a problem with the device. You can try to reinstall the driver but there is a big possibility that the tv tuner card might need replace. Please let me know what happens. Regards, Lolita
