Hobart handler 125 wire feed gears broken teeth. Have three teeth broken on plastic gear. Can I get replacement gears?

You are probably going to have to replace the complete assembly, and it is probably going to cost about $150. I would contact Hobart by phone with your serial #, and they should have the correct part# , since there is no parts list in your manual, and none seem to be available on line. BRwelders has part# 210010 listed but may not be correct, since it is for the 120.

I purchased a used Hobart Handler 140 and I think it might have a problem. No matter what Amperage setting and wire speed I can't get any penetration. I am using .30 flux core wire, no shielding gas....

Hi there,
Sounds like you liner may be bad. There is a plastic tube that the wire travels through to the gun.The teeth marks from the feed wheel acts like a saw and can cause a short. Then the liner carry's part of the voltage.Look for a blue color on the liner. Here is a video that shows how to change a Hobart liner .You may want to multi test first for contanity with the power off.

New Hobart Handler 140, feeds wire properly, but no weld output

Check the two main diodes. These units have a light duty cycle. About 20% if I remember correctly. I have one that I was welding with for a considerable amount of time, and burned up the diodes. You can test them by disconnecting the wires (with unit disconnected) and use a ohm meter. You should get a reading in one direction, but not the other. If no reading, then the diode is blown. You can order new ones from your local welding shop. Also check all conections on the secondary for any signs of overheating and loose connections.

My holbart 140 handler has power but does nothing I think its the computer board or the contactor because I turned it on and smoke came out

Could be a board but it is common for the diodes to overheat and burn out. These welders are only 20% duty cycle. If you do lots of continuous welding it will overheat. If you open the cover and follow the main lead you'll see the two large diodes . See if there are any burnt wires or melted insulation. You can order the diodes from hobart or from your local welding supply. You can test the diodes with an ohm meter. They should conduct in one direction, but not the other. Let us know what you find out!

Have Hobart 140 Handler, The motor won't run to feed the wire, even whith out wire. gas will come on when trigger depressed.Where can I find parts to fix?

You need to look at the wiring diagram to see what parts could be causing the problem. I had a 120 that did the same thing and it was the bridge rectifier that was bad. I unhooked my motor and hooked it to my battery charger to see if it was good.Hope this helps. I will see if I can find a diagram to look at and check back later to see if you have fixed the problem.
