Noise I just bought the 8000 and 10000 BTU Frigidaire air conditioners just before my move and have found that they are very noisy (especially the 8000 BTU unit). The sound of the air flow is very noisy and the 8000 BTU unit also seems be have a slight irritating whining noise. I was thinking about taking out the three screws I saw on the side of the unit in hopes of getting the front off and attaching some cloth or something inside to make it quieter. Since I have now moved into New York City and am over 160 miles from where I bought them I cannot return them. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I understand you are looking for the manual to your Frigidaire air conditioner, model# FAC084N7A. I also see you want to know the BTU rating. Your air conditioner is rated 800-BTU. I have attached the manual below. Hope this is helpful.
Most of these AC units that are small in BTU size, under 15k, can't be repaired because most manufacturers don't have replacement parts available. Contact Frigidaire first.

No sometimes the problem is intermint if it just three weeks old take it back for a new one. Dont wast your time for a service call, its cheaper ti repace.
If you have or know someone how has a multi meter just test that you have 220 volts at the outlet. Thats about the only way to tell. The fan will run if you only have 120v at the outlet, just not the compressor. so it will not cool. If you only 120v at the outlet it could be just a fuse or breaker problem. If it's a new outlet then it could be wiring wrong also.

that's fairly common for window units, it's ok to drill a small hole in the underside of the case to drain the water, just be sure you don't puncture the condenser in the process.
