Dish Network installed a new receiver (with the old receiver needed to be replaced). For the past 10 years that we have owned our ProScan....the dish has operated fine. Now with this new receiver, the technicians can't figure out why it does not auto tune. Currently, we have to go back to a bedroom to turn the channel for the Proscan located in the family room. Two different technicians have tried to figure out the problem. Why would it work fine for 10 years, then they replace a receiver, it doesn't work? They say it is a problem with the TV....I find that hard to believe.

I would like a little more clarification on your issue. What do you mean by auto tune? Are you not getting a picture? Is the remote not working?

    Thanks,

Hi, Dan: Someone from Dish actually figured out what it was...our tvs could not be on a infrared remote. So, both of our remotes are programmed for VHF. We have not had anymore issues since the remotes were reprogrammed. Thanks.

Hi Deanna, my name is Kimberly and form a part of the Social Media Department with DISH. I would like to begin by apologizing for the inconvenience you have experienced with our equipment. I understand this can be very frustrating and upsetting to you. I am here to assist you and would love to do so. Please know that there are many different reasons that may be causing signal loss. If you are losing signal constantly it may be that the dish is misaligned. In order to realign the dish we would need to schedule a technician visit. I would love to further look into this for you if you need us to. Please feel free to reach out to me directly at [email protected] I look forward to assisting you.

ViP 612 DVR hard drive is always running. I don't beleive it did this when it was new. At least I never heard it. It's about 2 years old. It is not the fan. The unit vents are clear. Tried reboot. No...

The function is always in use because of the ability to pause live tv and rewind. So its very common for the hard drive and fan to run often on DVR receivers. Does it still allow you to record programs? The best option would be to unplug it for 10-15 seconds which sounds like you have done. If the sound is becoming overbearing we can send a replacement receiver.

For the past couple of days, every show our DVR has recorded freezes a couple of minutes into playing it and the DVR reboots itself. This always occurs at the exact same time on that show. We don't have...

Hi, Mary with Dish Network Customer Service. Since the DVR is the only thing having the freezing issue, it sounds like it maybe a hard drive issue. I would recommend resetting the receiver. Unplug it from the power supply for 10 seconds and then let the receiver reboot itself. If you are still having this issue, I would recommend calling Dish Network and we will need to replace the receiver. Hard Drive issues do not resolve themselves and only get worse over time. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.

Normally when your channels change on its own, you may have a neighbor who also has DISH Network with both remotes (yours and theirs) having the same remote addresses. We would readdress the remote to the receiver giving your remote a new address. Since the remote is also draining batteries, this indicates the remote is not functioning correctly. Please call 1-800-333-3474, talk with Technical Support; we need to replace your remote. I hope this helps.

Hello! Dan Busa with Dish Network here. I know you've probably gotten this up and running by now but just for reference to anyone on this site. Any cabling or connectors used to carry signal to the receiver should be rated for 2,150 mhz if this is not the case you will typically get signal loss messages.

Hi mfpayton with the install of the brand new receiver wealways want to make sure all connections are tight. And after all connectionsare hand tight we will need to run the Check Switch Test. It will provide thestrongest signal to your home and you will see the signal move up into the 65percent range. If after the Check Switch Test it still is a low signal we mayneed to check the connections from the Dish and LNB that is an issue we wouldneed to come out on. I will leave the link to show you how to do the CST.http://www.dishnetwork.com/SupportSection/complete-sig-loss

I have 322 duel tunner reciver it ask for telephone line connection and i can't connect tel line, is their a way to bit

This is Mary with Dish Network Customer Service. The message you are referring to is an older message and it has since been made irrelevant. The message will go away on it's own within about 10 to 15 min and then it will acquire the Satellite signal as normal. if the message doesn't go away, call Dish Network and they try sending an authorization to the receiver or it may need to be replaced.

My DISH Network dual dvr that I had a year started shutting down on its own. The lights would go off but the fan would still run on high. It would do this 15-20 times a day. Got a brand new dvr last week....

sudel9302,

That replacement receiver may be experiencing technical problems. I apologize for the inconvenience of having the 2nd receiver shutting on/off. If unplugging and plugging the receiver back into the electrical outlet hasn't resolved the issue, please call 1-800-333-3474 so we can either send a replacement or have a tech come out to your home. I hope this helps.

Wanting to know how to save past recordings onto cd as the receiver is about to be replaced again!!

There are devices that will convert the video/audio outputs available from the back of the Dish receivers into the format needed to input to a PC (and maybe Mac too) but beyond that, you would need either an external DVD recorder or a VCR that has lived past its time.
The Tevion model we have is currently offered on eBay for a starting bid of $10 US:

You are not able to use the DVR unless you have Dish Network services. Cable operates at a different frequency than Dish Networks Dish Pro Plus Receivers.
