Hi,

Check the control panel for error indicators. The error light is to the left of the display and is marked "Error," it will illuminate. The error will appear on the screen and is in plain English, so very simple to interpret. An example is "Color or Black Ink Out," meaning there's no ink.

  • 2 Verify that the Epson Stylus CX3200 is connected to the printer with a cable. Try connecting without a USB hub while troubleshooting---that way you can identify if the problem is with the hub or printer. Replace the cable, it may be bad.
  • 3 Print a nozzle check pattern to determine the extent of the problem. The nozzle check will allow you to determine whether the printer will print at all, and the results will give you a good indication of print problems. Press the Menu button on the Control Panel until you see Nozzle Check and press the Color Copy button.
  • 4 Replace the printer cartridges if the Control Panel suggests you do so. Press the Menu button until you see "Change Cartridge" Press the Color Copy button and the cartridges will move to their change position. Lift the scanner and unclamp the cartridge. Replace the cartridge---color is on the right and black on the left. The Epson Stylus CX3200 will start charging the cartridge and after about thirty seconds the printer will be ready for use.

Changed toner---back side now prints dirty with band on the top. Did the cleaning procedure - no luck

If you changed toner because old was empty and now you have this defect with the new cartrige, it is most likley a defective cartridge. Try the old cartridge again, if it prints clean, then you know for sure it is the cartridge. If you purchased a new HP cartridge, get it replaced by HP, they warranty their toners against defects. If you bought a 3rd party toner, return it to where you bought it and get them to replace it. If you had your old toner refilled by someone, get your money back, they don't know what they are doing. This type of defect is often caused by a filled waste toner bin then then runs back out when you print. Some refillers just throw toner in and don't empty the waste toner bin.

I have a two year old printer not recognizing the cartridge. The print keeps saying "INSTALL BLACK CARTRIDGE". I bought a brand new cartridge and it is not recognizing it. What should I do

You arn't clear whether this message appeared with the old toner cartridge or just with the new cartridge.
If this message just appeared with the new cartridge and not the old one, take it back and get a replacement cartridge.
If the message also appeared with the old cartridge, the printer has a problem with the drum ground connector on the high voltage power supply.

Does not print.unit was not used for approximately 2yrs.bought ink cartridges and replaced those in the unit

common problem over time the old cartridges have slowly leaked onto the sink pad causing buildup that will jam the dossle points of the new cartridges youll need to get to the sink pad inside the unit just to the right and try to wash it out then just keep trying to print untill the new jets start to work

    User manual page 6.17 says:
Horizontal streaks indicate improperly installed or defective toner cartridge. Try re-installing the cartridge.

I have a lexmark z611. It has always worked fine. I just bought a new cartridge, installed it, tried to print, but kept getting a "printing failure" message. I uninstalled and reinstalled the software, I...

More than likely you have a defective cartridge. Everything you described indicates the cartridge especially since you can print with the old cartridge. I would take the "new" cartridge back to the store that you got it from, most good vendors will exchange a defective cartridge.

HP will not recognise new cartridge

The problem you are describing with the yellow cartridge sounds like ink starvation possibly due to a clogged print head or an air bubble in the print head. Since the machine is so new I would contact HP to get the print head replaced. As for the magenta cartridge, exchanging it for a new one at the store you bought it from should fix the problem. It sounds like the chip on the one you have is either damaged or wasn't set to read full ink levels.

I have a new canon mp210 printer ink is low i bought new ink to replace old their is no ink cartridges in printer. When i look at the pictures to load new ink and put it in alarm light is flashing

Even if the ink level is low, you can continue printing.Press the paperfeed knob for 5 seconds. inklevel indicator will stop now.
Sometimes a new (or refilled) cartridge is not recognised correctly.
When one color is really mt, stop printing and replace inmideatly the colorcartridge.Printing or scanning without the 2 cartridges in place is impossible.

    Problem with new ink cartridge

More that likely the refilled ink cartridges are faulty and should be replaced. While some folks have pretty good luck with refilled cartridges, it is generally better to stick with the new ones.

As to the problem with old cartridges, keep in mind that the estimated ink levels are just that - estimates. However, if your printer has an option for cleaning the cartridges, try that before chunking them. Take them out, put them back in, and run the cleaning process. Sometimes the nozzles can get clogged up and running the cleaning process will clear them up. ( DO NOT TRY TO CLEAN THE CARTRIDGES MANUALLY!)

If none of this helps, you will more than likely just need to get some new cartridges. - Graye

New cartridge won't work; old cartridge works (and re-instals) fine.

Check if the Toner is all the way in, you should hear a click, if not then something wrong or you installed it incorrectly.

i had that issue before, i didn't push it all the way in. and it whirrs but doesn't print.
