I am using I-Mate ultimate 9502, i installed Fring software but when i call through voip i hear the voice from opposite, but they are not getting my voice what i can do, and also when i go to update its shows check your date setting. please how i solve this prob

You see, the latest version released for WM (v3.35.3.248, if I'm not mistaken) works fine on my old 9502 (which is usually resting on a drawer). Sound is not routed to the earpiece, though. It goes either to the speakerphone, or to a bluetooth headset (if it is paired and enabled on fring' settings, that is) Install that version. Here's a tip for it to make or receive calls: before you start fring, change your phone's date back one year (i.e. 2010). Once fring is running, you can set it back to 2011. It should work!

Tap the speaker icon in the status bar, next to the clock one, and make sure that the 'On' checkbox is selected, and that the right slider (for phone) is all the way up.
In case these settings seem to be correct, try to soft reset your phone, but sliding its keyboard open, and pressing the reset pin (at the right of the right softkey) with the stylus pen.
If you still keep facing this issue afer a soft reset, your phone speaker might be faulty. Consider using either the wired headset or a bluetooth one for phone calls.
Hope you are able to sort your problems out soon.

After using the ear phone jack, my 9502 refuses to turn the speakers back on unless I jiggle the ear phone in the jack. A toothpick works as well so it is a mechanical problem, not an electronic problem....

back up all data and then master reset.
Take out the battery for a minute and then put it back, then press the Left and Right soft keys (the ones that look like a dash above the call and hang up buttons) at the same time, hold, and softly push the Reset button on the left? side of the device. Keep holding the SoftKeys until a confirmation message appears or the device boots up differently.

My imate 9502 sound suddenly stopped working about a month ago. The sound stopped working in both internal and external speakers. When people call me they can hear me but i cant hear them.

I had experienced such a problem a long time ago, and, as far as I remember, it was related to the installation of Voip softphones, such as fring, Nimbuzz, agephone, etc. The 9502 doesn't seem to like them, at all. All sound channels simply got muted, normally after the device was suspended after a Voip call. A simple soft reset (by pressing the reset pin on the keyboard with the stylus pen) used to solve the problem.
However, if a soft reset doesn't help in your case, you'll have to hard reset your device. If its keyboard and screen are fully operational,.it is recommended to backup your personal data first (PPCPimBackup is an excellent and small application to do it), since a hard reset will restore your device to its factory defaults. Then, tap on 'Start > Settings > System tab > Master Clear' and follow the instructions.
If your device is not operational, at all, please, post here, so I could tell you how to hard reset by hardware means.

You can try Fring it is a VoIP soft ware designed to work with windows mobile devices.
note:Your carrier may have restrictions on using data for VoIP services but Fring does allow for it.

Screen froze after installing WM 6.1

wiggle the stylus over the cross hairs until it moves around the screen and the screen alignment is completed. Then further software will self install and the phone shopuld be right

Imate 9502 Sound Problem

New report: the problem was not caused by HTC Home, after all. It was fring's fault. In fact, I think the 9502 doesn't like VoIP client applications at all, because I have just experienced the same problem (all sounds desappearing from all possible channels, including BT) when trying the age client. So, my advice is: uninstall all VoIP client applications from your device !

I'm now in process of try & error in making the native WM6 VoIP feature work through 3g (since via WiFi it is already working: probably a codec issue)...
