Actually this happens when your phone memory is full or memory card memory has no space for new messages or files,so delete some files or songs or videos in mobile phone,if the phone memory is full delete some messages in your mobile inbox,it can be message or song or audio. If you don't want to delete the messages, convert inbox messages to memory card instead being in phone memory so that you can store or send lot of messages.
delete sent items as well after sending messages

You need to delete some of your texts also go to your setting and click auto delete on it will delete the last one everytime you fill up your box so you will never run out of space.

I hav d nokia E63..! & i cannot send any msgs.....it says "memory full , close some applications first...(& i hav absolutely no applications on except messaging)...... before it said that...

hi, the memory might truly be full...check your memory status and see if truly it is full....if after checking, you realized that it is full, then you will have to delete some messages and delete some applications that you use less often..but, if you check your memory status and you realize you still have space, then it means you will have to scan for virus.
cheers

Can't send text messages. Everything is deleted, inbox, sent, drafts, but it still says "Memory Full Delete Items." I've taken the battery, the sim card and the memory card out! Solution?

I was having the same problem but what I didn't know is that I was taping my conversations somehow and when I went to the menu to "My stuff" and went to Audio, I pulled up "My voice" and had recorded conversations and used up all my memory. Once I deleted all of them, I was good again!
