DON'T RETURN IT YET....If your white Pandigital Novel won't turn on. Don't return it yet. I have one of these, and so does my daughter. Both of us have experienced the frustrating "screen freeze," then the subsequent shut-off and inability to turn back on. I tried the "reset" button first, then I tried all of the crazy "flashes" that are listed in some other posts that require another mutant hand (holding down power, volume and pushing reset all at the same time). None of this worked. Then I would plug in and it the red indicator charging light would come on, seemingly charging it. I was still unable to turn on, no matter how long I left it charging. THEREIN lies the problem. Here's the magical solution (to both of our "freeze-ups" anyway): Unplug it and let it go completely dead. Take it OFF the charger and let it sit for like 4 days. (I know it's hard to live without your baby...but this worked for me). I'm not sure how or why this worked, but my guess is that without pulling off the back and pulling out the battery (which i'm guessing would involve some prying and might void any warranties and/or return possibilities), this allows the li'l "engine-that-could" processor in these babies to reset. After you're confident that the battery has gone completely dead, first plug it in, then turn it on. Both mine and hers started back up like a champ--complete with all of our books, etc. Give it a try before you return it.

same. but my is abit different. my pandigital said it was charging but everytime i tried to turn it on the charging light would go off and it wouldn't come on so i would plug the charger back into it an it wouldn't light up so I would click the reset button an a light would come on indicating it reet. but the charging light wouldn't come on an neither would the ereader. so i went into the battery an unhooked it an put it back in. the charger light comes back on but when i try to turn the ereader on i would lose the charging light once again an it wouldn't come on still. i tried anykind of solution. the reset works fine apparently due to it lights up when i press it but thats all. i tried vol+ an power. or vol+ power an reset. still nothing. please if you or anyone can help me it would be awesome!

Thanks to who ever posted this solution in the first place. It worked for my Pandigital (white) which wouldn't turn on and had no light. THis is what he said to do:
Remove the back cover...just below the pandigital logo on the back (slightly below the crack) press your thumb in the middle and slide the back down. I had to do it a few times, but it did come off. Then unplug the battery (the two wires with the white plug). Then plug in the charger (on the side) and replug the battery in. That might solve the problem but if it doesn't .. then press power, volume and reset (using paper clip) at the same time for thirty seconds. Then release and that might solve the problem, but if a triangle shows up: simple repress the reset button once. This worked for me... thank you.

Pulling the battery cable was all that helped with my son's. We pushed this, pulled that, held our tongues in just the right position, prayed to the Pandigital gods, etc...Pulling the battery is all that helped.

How to reset Pandigital 7 in. Planet Tablet to factory settings?

There are two ways to do it. You can either update the firmware and it will erase everything for you, or you can do a factory reset, and return to factory settings. Go to Settings, PDN settings (not the Android settings menu) and scroll right to the Reset Defaults location. Tap on the reset button and you will be taken back to factory default settings. It might take a while to reload, but after everything it will be back to factory defaults from when you first bought it. Updating the firmware might be your best option if you care to resell it, because it may cause less issues for the next person and less chance of any returns.

Pandigital novel 7" WHITE ereader wont turn on.

You can try pressing the reset button with a straightened paperclip of pin. If that doesn't do anything removing the back and unplug the battery. Leave it unplugged for a minute or two and reconnect it. Be careful unplugging it as you don't want to put to much force on the wires. You can use a small screw driver or tweezers to pry on the plug. The white plug here is what you're locking for. See if it powers on and hopefully it does. If not you may have to contact Pandigital.

Hope this helps
