We also have a leak coming from the left side in the freezer. The water is pooling and freezing. Appears to leak when you get water from the door.

I have the Kenmoore with the fridge on top freezer on bottom. The water is freezing up on the bottom of the freezer and then once a week water leaks out both sides at the bottom all over the floor. Help!

I too have a similar issue. I've had the unit for appoximately 2 years, and haven't had any problems, until recently. The water (very slow stream) seems to be emanating from the corners of the two exhaust ports that I believe are there to allow the cooled condensed air that flows over the evaporator coils to escape from, and into the freezer compartment. In reviewing the technical data sheet that came with the unit, it appears that the problem could involve the evaporator and or dryer parts. Maybe the evaporator is not working correctly, not cooling the hot water completely that's put out by the condenser, allowing warmer water to enter the evaporator coils, thus the warmer air condenses on the inside plastic walls that surround the evaporator coil, and via gravity, the water runs down the exhaust port walls along the back freezer wall, eventually pooling and freezing on the bottom of the freezer. As I said, this is a recent problem. I bought the unit in 2006, and it's worked fine until now. In reviewing the tech data and circuit diagram, there are a couple fuses used in the system that deal with the heater and ice maker. Of note, the electronic display screen shows no error codes as shown in the MICOM ERROR DIAGNOSIS TABLE, so that's not helping me in diagnosing the problem. I'm a practicing DIYer, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Mr. C130

water is pooling in the bottom of the freezer. Seems the drain in the rear keeps freezing over. water then leaks out the front left corner onto the floor.

    Same problem

  • Anonymous May 08, 2009

I have the same issue with water pooling on the bottom of the freezer. The water freezes and then when the next cycle of water pours thru the freezer vent, it flows over the top of the built up ice which then flows thru the door stripping onto the floor. I have to monitor the ice weekly and clean it out by breaking it with a hammer. Wow, if this is how the  "Elite" live I'm about to give up my life style of the rich and famous and see if I can buy an ice box off of the antique road show.

The solution is not accurate. There is no way to get to the aluminum line once the rear panel is removed on my model. There is a drain pan and drain line but the drain line goes up into the bottom of the frig and there is no access from there on.

Our Kenmore Elite fridge mod 596.76252702, leaks about a cup of water on floor, 1-2 times a month

The condensate drain that takes the defrost water out of the fridge is blocked.
Pour some warm soapy water down the freezer drain and this may clear it

I have water leaking under my bottom freezer Kenmore Freezer Refrigerator.

The drain in the freezer side (behind back lower panel)
needs opening. You can see it at the bottom of the back panel
underneath the evaporator coils. (The cold coils)
Run Hot water in the drain until it clears or use a hairdryer.
