I keep having to adjust the convergence for blue. Flash focus doesn't do much so I have to laboriously go through and adjust all the crosses for the blue - it usually sinks low and to the right. My KP-57WV600 is over eight years old.

The convergence amp ICs are bad.

With your TV in setup Use a small magnet to "move" the non converged Red, Blue, or, Green color lines "crosses" (each CRT will need to be adjusted in turn) by moving the magnet close to the offending Red, Blue or,Green color CRT yoke or, tube while observing the movement of the CRT color line "cross" in a mirror ( try several places near the tube and, several strengths of magnets:) a refrigerator sheet magnet works well (you can cut these with a scissors to make a better fit or, apply less magnetic "pull." by making them smaller (you may need more than one magnet per tube to fix each CRT's convergence) When you have each CRT tube's convergence right, apply some clear silicone adhesive to the magnet and, permanently affix the magnet to the now "fixed" CRT tube exactly where you placed the magnet to obtain the best convergence on the CRT.
(Do not adjust the "Green" CRT unless you must, as it is used as the color line to adjust other lines to)

Thats the way it works. You have to adjust the other colors to the red. You adjust the red from the back of the set using the convergence magnets on the tubes. Then you adjust the other colors to match the red. It's much easier if you have the plastic screen from Toshiba used to align this set.

Can't use the flash focus button or the convergence control crosses +s don't alignes red,blue,green colors.The tv have convergence problems,it dead.Must replaced 2 STK convergence ICS,and some or all it resistors to solved convergence problems.The shop will cost u $300-350 for parts and labors.

Have you try adjusting your focus/screen drive controls to Tube R/G/B you have a focus/screen drive control block to adjust each Tube 3 controls ontop 3under them top ones are for Focus bottom is for screen drive.Red/Green/Blue Tubes.You might need to replace convergence IC, what is your Model number printed on back of TV?

Here is a walk through on how to set your convergence.

A quick and easy way to try and let the TV realign the convergence try this...

1) Turn on the TV and tune to a channel and let it warm up for about a half an hour to let everything settle into its normal operating mode.

2) Press the Flash Focus button on the original TV remote. A cross pattern will show on the screen and the process is complete when the cross turns white and the TV returns to the program you were watching.

3) Do not press any other buttons until this process has completed.

If this does not adjust it enough you can adjust the convergence manually as follows:

1) Press the menu button on the original TV remote.

2) Use the arrow keys on the remote to highlight setup and press + button to select.

3) Use arrow keys to select convergence and press + button to select.

4) A pattern of white crosses appears, with a yellow [ ] around one of the
crosses. Aligned crosses (which do not need adjustment) look white and
have little or no red or blue showing. Crosses that are not aligned show
red or blue shades beyond their edges.

5) Use the arrow keys to move the [ ] to a cross that is not aligned. ***Note: start with crosses in the middle and work outward ****
*** TIP: Set the alignment while about 5 feet from TV for better results ****

6) Press the + button to select the cross and the [ ] will turn red indicating it is ready to adjust the Red convergence.

7) Use the arrow keys to move the red cross on top of the white one or at least as close as you can get it.

8) Once the Red is aligned press the + key again and the [ ] will turn blue. This indicates it is now ready to adjust the blue convergence.

9) Use the arrow keys to move the blue cross on top of the white one or at least as close as you can get it.

10) Once you have aligned the blue cross press the + button again and the [ ] should turn yellow.

11) Repeat steps 5 through 10 until all the crosses are aligned. To exit back to regular programming press the menu button on the remote.

On front bottom panel remove behind it will be your focus/screen block cobtrol adjust Blue screen drive and focus also how to enter service mode for convergence with set off PRESS and hold at same time ch-&vol- untill set comes back on release you should now be in service mode for convergence.

Does the blue and red crosses move at all ... eather vertically or horizontally. if they move at all then it may not be the chips.. could be a resistor. if the crosses dont move then it probally the ic. these chips run about 7 to 45 dollars apeace depending on type. at our shop we charge around 125 to put in.

Blue convergence IC is bad! Blue CRT OK!

Required for repair---pull chassis,replace STK392-110 X 2.

Re-assemble,adjust convergence as needed.

The blue picture tube of a projection tv is usually the weakest in ability to focus and in most cases loses its focus ablility before the red and green. Connect a cross-hatch generator to the rf inputs of the unit and check to see which areas are most out of convergence. The corners are usually the worst. HD will always bring out the slightest imperfections. If the unit was totally out of convergence, I would have suggested replacing the convergence IC'S.In my experience with rear projection, your problem is normal wear . You could conceivably improve the picture by adjusting the blue focus on the screen focus block. Scrivitron
