It might be that is uneven

your door switch is the problem,where the door latch goes into the machine a little switch sites behind this a safety feature and if this is broke the machine will still switch on but will not work it will need replaced they are cheap.adrianxxx

There is a pull tab at the bottom of the door latch assembly that can be used as a manual release for the door by pulling it down.
Lean the washer backwards and unscrew the 3 screws under the bottom edge on the front of the washer to remove the lower panel under the door. Once the panel is removed, reach the tab with your hand up inside the washer behind the front casing on the right side and pull it down. The door will open.
If there is an error prior to the jamming of the door, the door latch assembly must be replaced. Feel free to let me know if that is the case.

Have you been leaving the door cracked open after washing a load? If not, mildew will form and smell. If you have, then it would be something else. Respond with any questions.

Sometimes I just have to unplug the machine, wait a few seconds and plug it back in and it works. I guess it resets itself or something.

have you tried pushing the button twice? That's what I have to do.
