You probably have the wrong driver for that computer when you reset it and that is why You have no wireless. You can download the driver from here: http://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/drivers
to another computer and use a usb stick to install it on the acer. The issue you are having is because Microsoft licensed the OS for ACER to use, Acer is allowed to put bloatware on it for a fee and in return MS wont allow you to use the clean version that they offer. They don't offer it now anyway because it is obsolete.
This is happening after virus attack over the disk drive driver ..and even if you force the driver to reinstall it will always go back to the non functional state ..The fix is to reinstall eh operation system from the recovery partition ..This way it will format the C drive and you will end up with a clean install and all features will function right ..remember to engage teh recovery and select complete reinstall of the operation system .. have a nice day !
try the recovery partition and make a full recovery of teh system ..That was a parallel function and if it is not there it means something is blocking it ..It maybe nothing but the swiping just not to work ..and this can be fixed by the reinstalling of the drivers..Anyway after engaging the recovery ..it will bring it to the factory condition .., at least it should do ..
I suggest to try the recovery partition ..cause it will be the easier and faster and most reliable ..but if this is not present anymore or is damaged too ..try on the support site ..of Acer..and select the model and operation system and download all drivers..This one should be among them ..even if it seams that it is not ..it may came on a package and install more than one at the time .. http://support.acer.com/us/en/product/default.aspx?tab=1&modelId=2455
