How do you use the internet on your psp

Hi.

Step 1- Switch on the PSP and go to the System Menu, and then enter "Network Settings". From there go into "Infrastructure mode", and select a connection to edit. If you already have a home connection set up or something, just select this as the one you are going to edit. Leave the name of the profile as it is, and skip the WLAN settings if they are already set up.

Step2- Go into "Address Settings" click on "Custom" and be sure to leave "IP Address Setting" as Automatic. Believe me; adjusting this will not help you get internet on your PSP!

Step 3- Go into "DNS Setting" and click on manual. This is where we need to type the address of the web gateway we will be using. The most popular one to use for this is the gateway at Endgadget, so input the numbers "208.42.28.174" as the Primary DNS IP, and put zeros for the Secondary DNS IP. (0.0.0.0). If for any reason this gateway is not working you can usually find others with a quick Google search.

Step 4- In the "Proxy Server" options, select "Do Not Use" All you need to do from there is confirm everything, and save it all by pushing X when prompted.

Step 5- Launch Wipeout:Pure as normal, and go into the Downloads menu. When asked to select a connection, choose the one you have just been editing, and you should be presented with the Endgadget web screen. Et voila! How to get internet on PSP!

I cannot use the wi-fi. As per instruction manual, if i type 192.168.1.1 window for linksys did not appear only the prolink of globe network

  • Find out what your IP and Gateway are in your computer. The type the Gateway address in the address bar of your browser:

  • Go to the Start menu, go to Run, and type "CMD" in the dialog box (without the quotes.)

  • 2 jQuery(document).ready(function(){ jQuery('#jsArticleStep2 span.image a:first').attr('href','http://i.ehow.com/images/a01/vq/ee/computer-ip-address-windows-1.2-800X800.jpg'); });

    Now you should see a dark (DOS) window that looks just like the picture on the left of this article step.

    Without the quotes, type "IPCONFIG" and press ENTER.

  • 3 jQuery(document).ready(function(){ jQuery('#jsArticleStep3 span.image a:first').attr('href','http://i.ehow.com/images/a01/vq/ee/computer-ip-address-windows-1.3-800X800.jpg'); });

    Now you should see some network information, along with the IP ADDRESS of your computer listed.

    ===- END -===

  • 4 jQuery(document).ready(function(){ jQuery('#jsArticleStep4 span.image a:first').attr('href','http://i.ehow.com/images/a01/vq/ee/computer-ip-address-windows-1.4-800X800.jpg'); });

    The following steps are OPTIONAL:

    If more information is needed, other than the IP address, type the following from the same DOS box described in step two: IPCONFIG /ALL

    This will provide you with more network information on your computer. Its purposes may vary.

  • 5 jQuery(document).ready(function(){ jQuery('#jsArticleStep5 span.image a:first').attr('href','http://i.ehow.com/images/a01/vq/ee/computer-ip-address-windows-1.5-800X800.jpg'); }); There are also websites available that can provide your computer IP, such as www.whatismyip.com.
  • 6 jQuery(document).ready(function(){ jQuery('#jsArticleStep6 span.image a:first').attr('href','http://i.ehow.com/images/a01/vq/ee/computer-ip-address-windows-1.6-800X800.jpg'); }); If you have a router/network set up, please note that the initial steps above will only show you the network's IP from the router. For example, if you have a Linksys router installed, and perform the IPCONFIG command, it will show you something like "192.168.1.x" as opposed to your computer's local/root address. For this reason, following STEP 5 above may be useful.
  • If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonial for my response. Happy New Year!

    Thanks, Joe

    Error code 84020 trying to play online

    Greetings,

    This is from the Nintendo website on what this error code means and how to fix it:

    Error Code: 84020 Currently our Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection match making service is undergoing temporary maintenance. This maintenance can prevent certain games from matching up opponents. Please try your connection again later.
    If you have waited several hours but are still receiving this error when connecting, please see the information below:
    Cause: This error is typically caused by a firewall interfering with a successful connection to the Nintendo WFC. Please read the following information.

    1. Do you receive this error every time you try and connect?
      • If you receive this error every time, please proceed to step #2 on this page.
      • If you receive this error only when playing a particular friend, then it is likely a problem with the friend's firewall settings on their connection. If possible, tell your friend review the port forwarding instructions on this page.
    2. In order to solve this problem, you may consider adjusting your router's Port Forwarding settings*. Each router is unique, so consult the owner's manual for your router or contact the manufacturer for specific information on working with your router's ports. For your information:
      • If you are prompted for a device or profile name, you can enter anything you like (such as Wii, etc.).
      • The starting port to open is 1, the ending port to open is 65535 (or as high as the router will allow).
      • Protocols will need to be set to UDP only.
      • Set the IP address for the ports to forward to the same as the Wii?s static IP address. If you don't know what the Wii's IP address is, the best way to determine it is by performing a manual setup:

      How to manually configure the Wii's IP address:
      The first thing you'll need to do is find out what IP address range you should be using. To do this:
      1. Click the "Start" button in the lower left-hand corner of your computer.
      2. Next, you will need to access the command prompt. To do this:
        • Windows XP users click "Run."
        • Windows Vista users click inside the search bar.
      3. Type "cmd" into the box and press Enter.
      4. Type "IPCONFIG/ALL" and press Enter. The IP address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, and DNS servers of the PC will be displayed.

      The IP address you are going to assign to the Wii must be 10 digits higher than the PC's. (e.g., 192.168.1.100 becomes 192.168.1.110). The Wii and the PC must have different IP addresses. Make note of what IP address you will assign to the Wii. Enter in the exact same values for your Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, Primary DNS and Secondary DNS. They must be the same for your Wii console and for your PC.

      You will now need to manually assign this new IP address to your Wii console. For step-by-step instructions on how to do this, please click here.
      • After you perform the manual setup, the Wii will initiate a connection test. If the connection tests fails, then please review the values you entered. If you still cannot complete the manual setup, please give us a call at 1-800-255-3700 in the USA or Canada for assistance.
    3. Ensure your router has the latest firmware installed. Visit your router manufacturer's website and look for any updated firmware that may be available (these are typically found under "downloads" or by searching for your particular model number).
    4. The error may be caused by a basic setting on the router that needs to be adjusted (such as the channel). Please review our general router troubleshooting.
    If you have tried all of the steps above with no success, we would like to speak with you directly. At your earliest convenience, please call 1-800-255-3700. Our representatives are available between 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Pacific Time, seven days a week.
    *While Nintendo provides this information for our consumers' use, it is up to each consumer to determine what security needs they have for their own networks, and to decide how best to configure their network settings to meet those needs.

    Thank you for using FixYa! =) If I helped, please give me a rating.
