Your operating system probably corrupt.
when the hardisk become older its usually making litle bit noise, until its retirement.
the best thing you do is double check your hardisk power and ide or sata cord if its fully inserted.
then boot up your laptop, if the problem persist, re format your laptop to a new O.S. (operating system)
good luck.
The hard drive has failed, the clicking noise is known as the click of death.
To get your laptop working again, you need to replace the hard drive, install Windows on the new hard drive, plus the laptop's device drivers and your programs.
GOTO BIOS
CHECK IF HDD IS DETECTING OR NOT
IF IT IS NOT THEN
REPLACE DATA CABLE
CHECK FOR POWER OF HDD I.E. POWER CONNECTIVITY PINS
IT WILL BE DONE
